Each settlor initrdlly transftrred EIOO to the trnst with further assets being transferred shortly thereafter. The Trust Fs governed by a board of trustees conslsting of the children of the settlors and friends and colleagues of the Ingles famlly. The board currentty numbers seven trustees. The trust pollry is to Invest for lon8 term growth and to distribute the annual Income to charitable causes. Distrlbutions are usually made to less well known charities and those organlsatlons that exist for the beneflt of disadvantaged chlldren and young people. Rather than supporting welkknown, national charities. we typically help smaller and lesser known charities. but they vary considerabty in slze and type of requirements. Most of the charitles that we support we have a lon8Standin8 relationship wlth. and Indeed we continue to support several that received monies back In the 71Ys and Ws. l am happy to report that distrlbutions of income to worthy causes durlng the year were £48.724. R J In8les INGLES CHARITABLE TRusr REGISTERED NUMBER 265283 FINANCIAL REVIEW During the year the trustee5 continued with their polity of investin8 for long terni growth while generatlng income for dlstribution to worthy causes. Funds ore largely invested in stocks and shares but thi5 has been done usin8 a variety of Investment advisers and with exposure to stock markets worldwide so as to mitigate the risk. The trustees are satisfied that the current investment portfolio meets their objectNes. The year ended 5, Aprll 2021 saw net income of £46.864, a fall of 5.7% compared to the previous vear. The reason for this was lower dividend income as companies reduced or cancelled thelr dividend because of the Covld-19 pandemic. However. the value of the capital fund increased by almost 34% as 8lobal stock markets ￿COvered and this In¢￿aSe was ahead of the benchmark Indlces.
