Governin8 document
The charity is governed by a constitution adopted in April 1972 and last updated in May 2012.
The trustees, who are elected every 2 years, are responsible for general control and management of the charity. The
trustees glve their time freely and receive no remuneration or other financlal benefits.
The trustees meet monthly to conduct the business of the charity. These meetings follow a formal agenda and
decislons are based on a simple majorlty.
At the meetings the trustees agree the broad strategy ond areas of actbvity for charity Including reserves and risk
management, relationshlp with group5 and other charities and Indivlduals, policies and performances. The day-to-
day administratSon of the charlty 15 delegated to the Executive Commlttee.
Trustees, Indurtlon and tralnlna
Most trustees are already familiar wlth the charity. New trustee5 are invited and encouraged to famlllarise
themselves with the charity and the context with in which it operates. Also new Trustees are encouraged to Use the
resource available at the Charity Commission website. Trustees are fully involved in the operations of charity and
have full access to all members to ensure that they can be fully aware of the methods and activitles of the charlty.
Rlsk Management
The trustees carry out an annual review of the rlsks the charity may face and are satlsfled that systems are In place
to monitor and control these rlsks to mitl8ate any impact they may have on the charity In future,
All the Internal financial controls are in place. In f uture if the need arises the trustees will seek professlonal advice to
establish systems and procedures to manage those risks Ilf any) and to provide reasonable assuran￿ against fraud
and error.
Oblectlves and actlvltles
Our alms
The main object is the advancement of Sikhism. as in the past celebrated all the Gurpurabs, weekly and monthly
religlou5 occasions, and also performed en8agernents and weddin8 ceremonies. In addition. occasionally rellglous
servlces were performed at the funeral of the members of the Sikh community.

Publlc Benellt
The trustees and the management committee have had due regards to the Charity
Commission's guidance on public benefit when reviewing our aims and objectfves and plannlng our future activities.
Istri Sabha (Ladies Section) has been holding weekly Diwans and outings to other Sikh Gurdwaras in the country. A5
usual their annual Jap Sahib, Chaupai and Sukhmani Sahib (prayers for world peace and harmonyl programmes have
been very successful and appreclated by the congregation.
Ramgarhia Panjabi School has been operating under the auspices of the Gurdwara and is runnin8 classes to teach the
Panjabi language and promote the Panlabl culture. The school continues to thrlve.
The School building is also used by Dhol Academy to teach Dhol Ilndian drumsl.
Other organisatlons have been using premises at 270 Neville Road.
Volunteer5
Many volunteers give up thelr tlme to help at the Gurdwara, particularly at the week-end and In the evenings. We
are greatly indebted to these volunteer5 for their commitment and support,
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
The Charitles activlties during the year were for public beneflt. The trustees conslder that these activltles provide
benefit both to those who worship at Ram8arhia Sikh Gurdwara and the wider community. We have achleved its
planned targets. In line wlth alms and objectlves wrltten in the Governing Document.
The trustees would like to record their gratitude to variou5 volunteers and donors whose contrlbutions, financlal or
otherwise, have helped the smooth running of the Gurdwara In the past year

The trustee5 report that the net Incoming resources for the year were in surplus of £124,11212023- surplus of
£45.4271 takin8 accumulated fund5 to £3,978,988 from £3,854.876. The operating surplus for the year 15 similar to
Increase in bank balances at the year.end as compared to previous year-end.
Resebyes pollcy
The charity relies on donation5 and offerln8s from Sangat IPublicl.
These donatlons and offerings can flurtuate from year to year therefore the trustees aim to ensure that the charlty
has sufficient resources to continue its artivities and to meet its obligations. To this end. It Is considered pruder¢t that
Sufficient liquid funds are malntalned.

Results for the year
The total income ir)creased by £144,199 to £381,620. The total expenditure for the year including depreciation
increased in the year from £191,994 to £257,507 caused mainly by increase in wages, food ingredients, maintenance
and light & heat costs.
The net movement in funds for the year was £124,112 thereby increasing the unrestricted funds to £3,978,988 of
which £3,552.229 Iwith the difference being bank deposits) is invested in the charity's total fixed assets.
Future Plans
The charity does not anticipate any change in its operation5 and expects to continue to provide Improved facilities to
the members of the Sikh communlty as well a5 the wider local community. The Charity wishes to continue the
promotion of the Sikh faith in the local community and to contlnue helping those in need.
The trustees have taken all steps to reduce costs where possible and continue to Improve Gurdwara facilities. The
trustees are of the opinion that the Gurdwara is a golng concern.

The tru5tee5 are responsible for preparing the Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance wlth
applicable law and regulation5.
The law applicable to charltles In England & Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statement5 for each
financial year in accordance with United Klngdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice Iunited Kin8dom
Accountin8 Standards and appllcable lawl. The trustees must not approve the financial statements unless they are
satlsfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charlty and of the incomln8 resources and
applicatlon of resource5. includln8 the income and expenditure, of the charity for that perlod.
