The financial statements have been prepared in aca)rdance with Ihe accounting policAes set out in notes
to Ihe accounts and comply with the chariws goveming dO￿￿￿nt. the Charities Acl 2011 and the
relevanl version of the Statement of Recommertded Practice appli￿ble to charities preparing their
accounts in accordan￿ wrth the Finanual ReportirvJ Standard applirable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland IFRS 102).
Objectives
The objecb'ves of The Friends of Charing Cross Hospital are:
to provide funds for equipment and supwi projects. to benefft the Hospital, the patients and the
local community"
to inLYease public awareness of the needs of patients of Charing Cross H05Pital to mobilise
support and raise funds.
to develop and maintain an acttve membership of the charity"
to liaise and connect with other like-minded organisations and also voluntary seNI￿s.
Governance and management
The chair in a voluntsry capaaty oversees the staff and general cyeration of the tharitys work, assisted
by the Treasurer and the Board of Trustees, all volunteers.
There have been changes in Ihe Board of trustees and Ihese are still ongoing. The total number of
Cur￿ nt trustees at the end of the reporting perioj VRS four, of whith have been suspended in
December 2025 following dis(iplinary action against them. A new TreaSU￿r has been selected and her
Co-opt in imminent. It is 8xperted to have a new trustee recruitrnent campaign to allow for additional
manpower to join the organIsati￿ atvj alow br more acbwties to be ￿rried out.
Trustees are re¢Wit￿ through word of mouth andlor posling of the roles on specific recruitment
channels for third sector volunteers. and some have been traditionalty used by the Charity for several
cruitments. The Chair and other Board members are tasked with interviewing prospective trustees. If
accepted, Ihe trustee mayioin the Board straight away and they are later fonnally voted in and en(lorsed
at the AGM.
Grant Applicatlons
The charity invites grant applications prospaclive grantees to purchase equipmenl and fund
projects that will support ar￿ benefit the hospital patients. staff and the local community. The trustees
take into account the purpose and benefit of eath applicab'on before agreeing to provide the fijnds in
line with the objectives of the tharity.

Investment Policy
The Charitys reserves wlicy is to hold a minimum of£30k as reserves. whid) is sUffic￿nI to Gover three
years. worth of planned expenditure to ensure (x)ntll]ued financial security and to provide for
contingenues.
Friends of Charing Cross Hospital seeks to produ￿ the best financial rebjm within an acceptable level
of risk. The investment objective is to generate a retum of inflatN)n plus 3% per annum over the long
temi, after expenses. Friends of Charing Cross Hospital adopts a total retum approath to investment,
generating the income gain from dividends re-inve*ed plus ￿pital gains or losses. Assets should be
readily available to meet unanticApated cashflow requirements.
The Trustees wish to keep at least 75% of Ihe assets in inveslments that can be realised within three
months. A minimum of six month's budgeted cashilow should be kept in cash or near cash investments
at all limes. Dividends receiv8d on investrnents wll be re-invested.
Friends of Charing Cross Hospital expects to exist in perpetuty arKI investments should be managed lo
meet the investment objective aThJ ensure this sustainabilty. As a resulL FrierKls of Charin9 Cross
Hospital adopt a long-tenn investment time horEon.
Friends of Charing Cross Hospital exF*cts assets to be invested in line with its aims. It expects its
investmént man8ger{s) to In￿+rpOrate Environmental, Social and Govemance {ESGI factors as part of
their management of the investments and for Reswnsible Investment lo be ingrained into their
investrnent thIn￿ng. The Charity does not want to invest diredy into alixjhol, tobacco or arn￿MentS.

assets {excluding the direct property) on a di5￿tI)nal basis in line with tts investmenl poliGy. Since
2023 Ihe charity selecled Schroders as its Fund Manager and invested in th￿r Charity Multi-Assets
Fund.

The Frlends, Shop
In November 2020. our charity shop Spa￿ on the first)loor ofthe Ho¥ital was handed over pemanently
to Imperial Twst and our staff member was trdnsferred 0￿r too.
On4lte activities
Until De(%mber 2025 we keptour Offi￿ Spa￿ on-site atthe Hospital, whith had been parti811y converted
into a charity shop with limited a￿sS by the putAic. On￿ a week. sin￿ De￿mber 2025 V￿ moved or
office outside the Hospitsl and are no k)nger storing goods and office equipment there,
Donations and legacies
We receive donations via our website and social media links" also through Paypal Giving.
Occasionally. we receive donalions through Charities Aid FoundatTron.
We can accept annual memt*r subs(Tiption payments through Go Cardless.
We receive money on an irrewlar basis from Wcies and oneaoff donal#)ns from grateful
patients and their families.
Looking ahead
Charities are being called upcfi fflore than ever to support their cwimun1t￿$, vthilst at the same b'me
facing Unprec￿ented challenges for the future. SupFK)rt for most vulnerable and isolated community
members played an essential part in helping people continue to suNve and access the help they
needed. We were in the fortunats tM)sition of being able to collaborate with other local charilies to ensure
the most vulnerable are given some much needed SUPkK)rt. Wilh our Board being strengthened with new
trustees in place, bringing fresh ideas and new energy, within the overall path defined by the new
strategic plan. we will strive to grow and ￿)n￿'nue to seNe ho4Ytal patents. NHS staff, local
organisations and the hjcal community in Hammersmtth and Fulham.

Statement of Trustees. Responsibilities
For the year ended 30 June 2024
The Charities Act requires the Board of Trustees to prepare financial statements for each finanaal year
which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the chanty as at the erMI of the financial year and
of the surplus or defiot of the charity. In preparing those finanaal statements. the Board is required lo:

with regulations made under the Charilies Act. They are also resF(1nsib￿ for safeguarding the assets of
the charity and hen￿ takn.ng reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and olher
irregularities.
The Trustees are also resKK)nsibte for the of the trustees. rewrt. and the responsibiltty of the
independent examiner in relation to the trustees. retK)rt is limited to examining the report and ensuring
