The trustees have the pleasure of presentin8 their Annual Report and Flnandal Ststements for the
year ended 31 March 2025.
srRucfuRE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
There shall be a Commlttee, and the busine￿ of the League shall be conducted and mana8ed by the
Committee. who may exercise 811 such powers of the League and do on behalf of the Lea8ue all such
acts as may be exerclsed and done by the League and as are not by these Rules required to be
exerclsed or done by the Lea8ue In a General Meetlr
The Committee shall conslst of the T￿asurer of the LeaBue and not le55 than 10 nor more than 20
other persons. No person shall ￿ a rnember of the Committee who Is not a member of the League.
OWECT AND POWERS
The Object of the League shall be to relI￿e patients and fOrn￿r patlents of the Hospltal and other
Invalids in the community who are slck, convalescent, disabled, handlcapped, Infimi or in need of
flnancial assistance and, generally to support the charitable work of the sald H05Pltal. For the
purpose of carrylng Out the above Objert but not otheTh4ise, the League shall have the following
powers..
lal To educate the publ1¢ in the needs of the patlents of Klng Geor8e Hospltal and other Invallds In
the community and to mobillze, encourage. foster •nd malntaln the Interest and support of the
public In the sald Hospltal.
Ibl To asslst wlth the establishment of new Leagues al￿ to foster Cowoperatlon and
intercommunlcation between Leagues, other charitable instltutions. Local AuthOr￿leS, Hospltal
Authorltv&s and Natlonal Health SeThlce Authoritles.
Icl To give and exchan8e Informotion and advKe and to promote education In all matters relatln8 to
hospltal manaBement, to promote researth and to di55emlnate the results.
(dl To publlsh. or contrlbute to the publlcatlon of any papers, book5, perlodlals. reports or other
documents.
lel To hold conferences. meetln8s, lectures, exhlbltlons and discusslons.
In To rerruit and to asslst in the recruitment of voluntary workers in and for the Hospltal.
Igl To ralse funds and to invFte and receive contributions from any person or persons or
organlsations whatsoever by way of subscription. donation or other4¥iSe.
{hl To take and accept 81fts of property, whether subject to any spedal trust or no¢ for the Object
of the League.
{11 To supplement the sepAce provlded by the Klng Geor¥e Hospltal for the health. welfare and
comfort of the patients thereln and other invalid5 in the community by the provlsion of facilities,
build6n￿ and equlpment which may be requlred for tFe treatment of such patients, or, for the
efficient wnning of the H05Pttal.
til To provide, or assist in the provision of, amenities in the fing George Hospital for patients and
staff, including the provision and running of Hospttal Shops, the establishment of clubs, health

and recreation centres, hostels and rest and convalescent homes for the use and benefit of such
persons.

MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS DURING ThE YEAA
The on8oln8 commltment of the Friends of King George Hospital has been vital In addressing the
challenges faced by the hospltal and it5 patients. particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemlc.
As the community continue5 to recover. our efftirt5 have focused on enhanclng patient Care.
Improvln8 facllities, and fosterlng connections within the community.
First, we have actively supported the hospStal by fvndralsing for e5sentlal ￿dICal equipment and
resources. Thls year. thanks to generO￿ty of our donors, we were able to provide Courtesy &
Comfort packs for use In the A&E DepartmenL Information screen for use by the Ante-Natal Unlt,
RITA Devke for use In ITU Oepartment. These corrtributions have been critical In ensuflng that the
h05pltal provldes the hl8hest standard of care.
For the Chlldren's A&E Department. we have provlded I Pads & C•ses, Play Therapy Items that
provlded the chlldren wlth a dlstraction durlngth55 Stressful tlme, thus creatlng a more
comforting envlronment tor them.
Prlor to Covid, the League of Frlends fan a very successful shop whl¢h both provlded a valued service,
but also generated slgniflcant Income. The Commlttee contlnue dlscussions wlth the hospltal to
relnstate thls. In the meantlme, le8acy Income and its interest provides the flnancial reserves to meet
the needs identlfied on the slte.
Lastly, It goes wlthout saylng that none of thls would have been posslble without the unwaverlng
SUPPOrt of the hospital staff and management. Their dedlcatlon and collaboratlon have been
Involuable in identifyln8 the most pressing needs and ensurfn8 that our inltlatlves align with the
hospital's goals. To8ether, we contlnue to strengthen our communty bonds and improve the Ilves of
those we serve
