MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS DURING THE YEAR The ongoing commitment of the Friends of King George Hospital hès been vrtal in addressing the hallen8es faced by the hospital and tts patients, particular￿ in the wake of the COVltk19 pandemic. As the community continues to ￿Cover. our efforts have focused on enhancing patient care. impr¢)ving facilities. and fostering connections within the community. First, we have actively supported the h05PttsI by fundrnising for essential medical equipment and resources. This year, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to provide a Spy Phi machine, which is a unique and versatr.le fluorescence imaging system that provides clinicians wrth a convenient solution for perfusion assessment. We were also able to provide the hospital V￿th everyday equipment, such as ITU diaries and a Stoma care trolley. These Contribu￿"0n5 have been critical in ensuring that the h05Pltal provides the highest standard of care. Secondly, we have been able to enhance the quality of the patient atmosphere by providing the A+E with children's play panels. This was highfy benefiaal as it prowded the children with entertainment and a distraction during what is likely to be a scary and stressful time, thus creating a more comforting enwronment for them. Prior to Covid. the League of Friends ran a very successful shop which both provided a valued servlce, but also generated slgnificant income. The Committee continue discussions with the hospital to reinstate this. In the meantime. legary intome and its interest provides the financial reserves to meet the needs identified on the site. Lastly, it goes without saying that none of this would have been possible wthout the unwavering support of the hospital staff and management. Their dedication and collaboration have been Invaluable In Identlfylng the most pressing needs and ensurin8 that our initfafjvès allgn wlth the hospital's goa15.
