Achievements and Performance
| SORP reference | ||
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | We have been asked to contribute and assist with inclusivity and awareness by the Royal Photographic Society and attend regular meetings to discuss this with them. Our work with our members has made a big difference for many of them and in at least one case has prevented suicidal thoughts by one individual. Our exhibition of our members work and our attendance at trade fairs helps to increase the knowledge of the abilities of disabled persons, by the wider community. |

Financial Review
| Financial Review | ||
|---|---|---|
| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | The situation is very healthy and shows an increased balance from the previous year. Covid restrictions have meant a decrease in expenditure in some areas, but an increase in others such as online activities (zoom etc) which will also help to reduce some costs, such as travel, in the future too. |
| Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held |
Para 1.22 | We have a loose policy of trying to maintain a years turnover in reserve, for situations where we may have difficulty in our main fundraising event, held each year at the NEC in Birmingham, as happened with Covid. We were extremely fortunate to have had a large one off donation that more made up for that. That has swollen our balance way beyond normal and we shall spend that excess on future proofing the society as best we can. |
| Amount of reserves held | Para 1.22 | Approximately 50,000 |
| Reasons for holding zero reserves |
