By doing this, we enable these churches to support their communities & grow community development projects. MANNA’s Mustard Seed Grant (given out annually) seeks to help alleviate this issue and it is given to a Diocese with an income-generating project proposal that the trustees think is most likely to succeed. The Diocese of Divina Esperanca in Angola set up a pharmacy last year which is now open and generating income (photo on front). The Diocese of Centro e Sul has been also setting up a pharmacy with a separate grant from MANNA. The Diocese of Rio Pungue has been given a Mustard Seed Fund grant to establish a vegetable and fruit farm which they are in the process of setting up. ## **‘Juntos Pela Saúde Community Health project in Mozambique** MANNA has been supporting an innovative community health project in Lichinga, northern Mozambique. It educates women, girls, whole communities and secondary school students in key health topics such as malaria, diarrhoea, sexual health, pregnancy, nutrition, WASH, cholera, etc. It’s successful and innovative methods means it is replicable and could grow fast with a steady stream of funding. ## **Child Nutrition project, Southern Angola** A group of ‘Mamas’ in southern Angola from the Mothers Union in the local Anglican church, have set up a Child Nutrition project in Cunene province, southern Angola. Recognising that malnutrition is a serious issue within their communities, they have been training volunteers to recognise the signs of malnutrition in young children and teaching mother’s how to address the issue. The Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire, USA has been supporting this project for many years: MANNA are now partnering with them too to strengthen this project. The objective of the MANNA is the furtherance of the work of the Anglican Communion in Mozambique & Angola and the broadening of the awareness of that work both within the wider Anglican Communion and to any potential partners. In leading the charity in 2024 the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit.
