**Objects:** 1) TO RELIEVE POVERTY SICKNESS INFIRMITY AND OLD AGE AMONG PERSONS LIVING IN THE COUNTY OF CORNWALL AND ALSO THOSE LIVING WITHIN A RADIUS OF FORTY MILES OF THE PLYMOUTH CIVIC CENTRE OR THOSE PERSONS WHO ARE RECEIVING TREATMENT EITHER AS AN OUT-PATIENT OR AN IN-PATIENT IN ANY HOSPITAL NOW OR HEREAFTER CONTROLLED BY THE PLYMOUTH AND DISTRICT HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE OR ITS SUCCESSORS IN TITLE. 2) IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING OBJECTS) TO RELIEVE THOSE SUFFERING FROM CANCER AND ITS ALLIED CAUSES AND EFFECTS AND TO PROMOTE RESEARCH INTO THE CAUSES OF CANCER AND ALLIED DISEASES AND TO SEEK THE CURE OF SUCH DISEASES INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF EQUIPMENT FOR RESEARCH INTO, THE INVESTIGATION AND CURE OF SUCH DISEASES AND THOSE SUFFERING OR THOUGHT POSSIBLY TO BE SUFFERING FROM CANCER OR ALLIED DISEASES AND TO PUBLISH AND DISSEMINATE THE RESULTS OR SUCH RESEARCH.

**Activities:** Improvement of local facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Improvement of local facilities for the care of cancer patients. Assistance with the relief of hardship arising from cancer. Promotion of cancer education. Support of local research.
