The charity was registered in February 1971 and the governing document was updated on 21[st] January 1980, then amended on 27[th] August 1996 and 22[nd] February 2002.

Objectives and Activities

Provision of Housing for those of limited means of the Church of England resident in Devon with a preference given to Clergy, their wives/husbands and widows/widowers or if no suitable applicant to a poor person in Devon with a preference given to widows

To apply the income for the benefit of the residents in the homes of the charity or any of them in such manner as the trustees think fit.

Review of the year including financial review

The maintenance contributions remained stable in the year. In 2024/25 the trustees continued to maintain and update properties as necessary required.

The year end funds are healthy which will allow us to repair the various properties going forward with a possibility of purchasing another flat if available.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Lady Lucie Reynell’s Charity for the year ended 28[th] February 2025.

Responsibilities and basis of the report

As the charity trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act).

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. Accounting records were not kept in respect of the church as required by section 130 of the Act; or

  2. The accounts do not accord with those records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
