for young Fwpl& to bènefit from the eXper￿nCe and challenges of offshore sail tr8ining and £40.000 was

The King's Sllvèr Medal Comp•tlllon
The King's Silver Medal IKSMI Competition was institutèd by HM King George Vl in 1944 to identify thè
shipyard apprenlice of the year and the Shipwrights. Company was charged with runnin9 this challenging
co￿petitiOn annual￿. The KSM Compehtion is intense lor the competitors bul is designed and njn lo
ensure that every particspanl is given the maximum opportunity to learn and develop Irom the experiènce.

The Abram Travel Bursary
The Abram Travel Bursary was again paid to the University of Strathclyde. Under the agreement, made
between the dOr￿r and the Shipwrights. Comp8ny. an annual donation of£5,C¥)O is rnadeto the Company
and subsequenty awarded to the University as the Abram Travel Bwsary whSch Is used lo support

The Annuol Shipwrights. Appyenlice Lectures were held on 17 Cttobttr 2023 ai the MAST Theatre in
Sovthampion and over 300 apprentices. students atMI employers attended. sorne haV￿g travelled over
200 ￿11￿5 to allend. The event was partially sponsored by Pendennis Shipyard.

The Shipwri9hls' Comp8ny's investment strategy is contained in 115 Investment Policy siatèment which is
reviewed annually by the Finance CommittÈe. Ihe Wardens and approved by the Court. The Company's
financial objective is for 11$ ¢haritable inveslments to m8intain their value in real ter￿S and produce a
minimum return after inflation. and nel ol lees. o13.5Vo. The Inveslrnent Managers are required lo absde
by the stratègy. Th8 Company employed lund managors thloughout Ihe year: Cazenove Charities,
who were appobnted in May 2018. and Sarasin & Partners, were apponted in Oclober 2019.
