## **Buckinghamshire Record Society**

## **Independent Examiner’s Report to the trustees on the accounts**

## **for the year ended 31 December 2024**

## **___________________________________________________________________**

The report covers the accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024 as set out in the following pages.

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**

The trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is our responsibility to

- examine the accounts under Section 145 of the 2011 Act

- to follow the procedures laid down in the general directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act and

- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention

## **Basis of Independent Examiner’s report**

Our examination was carried out in accordance with general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a true and fair view and the report is limited to the matters set out in the statement below.

## **Independent Examiner’s Report**

We have completed our examination and confirm that no material matters have come to our attention in connection with the examination which gives us cause that in any material respect

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with Section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a “true and fair” view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

We have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
