The British Trust for the Ecumenical Institute for Advanced Theological Study in Jerusalem {known as
the British Trust for Tanturl is a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and
Wales- number 261410. The registered address of the trust 15 that of the Treasurer: 9, Holly Lane

Strurture Governance and Management
Trustees are appointed by the trust board under the Trust Deed dated 10 July 1970. Meetings are
held bi-annually to hear reports from the Institute at Tantur, determine priorities. award 8rants and
approve the financial accounts.

Objettives and Artivities
Under the Trust Deed dated IO, July 1970, the Trustees are empowered to use the annual income of
the trust to support, in the first instance, the work of the Ecumenical Institute for Advanced
Theological Studies subsequently established at Tantur near Jerusalem Ithe Institute at Tanturl. The
Trustees having given due regard to this primary objective, may apply the income to other charitable
causes, particularly, but without prejudice. sUPPOrting ecumenical learning.
The Trustees seek to fully support a p05t-graduate to study for an extended period from a designated
fund known as the'Woods-Gumbel' Fund named in honour oftwo earlytrustees.
The Tnjst also makes one off support grants to people who wish to study privately at the Instttute of
Tantur normally in the region of £2,CMXI.

peO￿e aged between 21 and 35 hosted at the Tantur Ecumenlcal Institute in Awil 2024. 32
partlclpants had been selected and plèns ThTre In place to tr￿1 in April 2024. H(hve¥er. the vAr
whith erupted In Gaza towords tr* end of 2023 and the prwdlling unstable securty situation has
used the postFrfJnement of this lrfp untll Aprfl 2025. One parttcipant has wlthdrawn and the
remaSnlng 31 have paid thelr deposlts of £1￿ and deposlts have been pald to ￿￿￿e fi58hts. We pr•rf
that the sltuation will improve, and peace wlll be restored to the reglon. No other 8rants fDr
