Th¥s year we took 70 guests ¢Jn our ￿thntial holidays over 5 vfftks
at Macaioni Wood residenb"d c* in Gkm￿ester5hlre. We moved all our hoTrKJayweeks tothis centre
last year and rt has prts¥ed to L* very popular. The accommodati￿ aThY faolibes are very good.
We have around 80 vc4unteers, mainty students, so that each guest has their own vdunteer to act as a
buddy and help them engage in the acirniities. Guests wrth ujmplex needs who rnight also be physi(xlly
disabled are allocated two vokjnteers. Many of (Ajr vdunteer5 retum each year. Each holiday week has
tsvo leader5.
We have a team of minibus (knvers. many olvA￿ are telired kxal Feople wbo gr¥e up a week or IWO
to drivp our wests and v(Aunleers to Iheir sctivths.
Each day the guests aThJ v(Aurrteers go to a drfferent ¥enL* &g. wldlrfe ￿rks, therne parts, I￿￿￿r¥J.
S￿Mming, (*) a b(xt lrip. In the evenings there are taknt c￿tests. BBQ'S. Camp file singing and
disw.
We have a cook lor each holiday week15 in total). TtrEy are usually peO￿￿e cook for sdKds during
tem time and they have to Pfovide meals to c2tei for all dietary needg.
The guests colltribLrte to the cost of tt*ir holiday amounbng io about 35% of Ihe a)st per guest
some guest's families are unatrle io pay or can only pay a small amount we offer support when
needed and no one is refused a ￿)lidaY because they pay..
New volunteers ale given training in ieaming disabilty. ￿Uar￿"￿3 heatth and 5afety-
We recruit frorn university Ydunttt￿n9 websites- ￿1[ holhlays attract rnedical and psychology students
particularty. We advertise also on our website. New ¥d￿nteerS must provide iwo references. All (rf our
vdunteers have a DBS check and this is upxlated every 3 years.
We also take a srnall numbei ol ycwng people aged 16- 18 on hvo of wr holiday weeks. These
volunteers are qurte often doing the Dvke of Edinburgh award ano volunteering for us is a part of that.
This groyp often end5 up volunteering us for next 5 or 6 years. The two hOl￿aY weeks that take
under 18 5 have a policy for Ihe'under 18, vdunteers irKJudiw saleguardiFVJ.
Each holiday week also has a rned5c who 15 either a qualjfied D(Ktoi or Nurse 01 a senhjr medical
student. Many of our guests afe on reguk2r me(Sicabon ar¥Y the medic is reswnsible for giving this and
dealing wlth minor health k%sues. We have a I￿ Ihrestrjhl for escth'rvJ any guesfs heath problems
and a￿ayS contact the ne* of kin.
Oxtord Mencap also run5 a weekty ￿181 dub fc* peo￿ with a leamiThJ diSa￿ltywhich has arwnd 40
members.
We held a Chrislmas paty in D￿be1 2024 at The JULY￿ Hall StAndrthvs Church. Oxford. We
prowded a rneal. a mag￿an. dan¢ing. face painting and Father Christrnas bn'nging gfts for our guests.
Some of our voluntee[5 were able lo come too as well a5 some of our guests parent5 and the
committee mèmbers. A toial of 97 (2me. Ever)￿ enjoyed and wewill be ¢trJirvJ again in 2025.

The calCU￿bOn of the reqUI￿d level of ￿ServeS is an integral part ol the oiganisation's planning, budget
and lorecast cycle. It takes into ￿c￿nt the risks 8S50oated ￿ each Stre￿ of income 8fKI
expenditure. ￿anned activrty level and ILrture commitments.
The Trustees believe that at present Ir* arnovnt needed to be hdd in reserves is £55,489. This ffigure
will be ieviewed on a six mon1hly tosis in order for Ihe amourrt of resew¥es to b8 maintsined at a
reasonable level.
Risk Assessmgnt

laces and Confirrn that systems have been established to enabl8 iegular repL*ts to ￿ produced so that
the n￿ssary steps can be taken to nunimise ￿ese risks.
