The Trustees present their Iqx)rt with the financial ststements of the Cl￿rity for the
year ended 31 August 2025.
The Tn￿e¢S have adopted the provisions of the Ststement of R¢¢ommended Practice

The Society w&s estsblished in 1944 to fosfrr the appreciatio￿ improvement and
developn￿t of the Arts amongst the inhabitants of the BoTough of Solihull.

Objectives and Activitses- ￿ntinU￿]
There are six sections of the Society- ATL Dtam4 Local History. Recorded Music,
Solihull on Stage and its youth Sectio￿ Sosage Factory. Solihull on Stsge and
Sosage Factory were previously affiliated members. beconiillg full members on I
September 2015. Meetings and perfonnances of the various sections are open to the
public, norn)ally on payment of an admission charge. Members pay a subscriptio
part of which goes to the Society &$ capitation and the IMlaDce goes to the individual
sections to which membets Subs￿￿be.
Activities of th¢ Charity
During the year the activities of two perforn]ing arts sections, SolihuIl on Stage and
Sosage Factory, have been restricted by the closure of the Core Theatre in Solihull. A
number of ￿tiOnS meet in Alderbrook School, under the teTms of a 10 year
Partnership Agreement of 6 December 21X)2. &8 updated by fithT Agreements dated
6 December 2012 and 6 December 2017. Under the Agreements the School would be
due to repay to the Society the £270,0(KJ which was origiually advanced under the
2002 AgreemenL if they termi￿ without agreeing a further r¢n¢wal. This sum was
treated as a grant when it was originally made in July 2(K)3, an(t Lx)nsequently, does
I￿t appear in the accounts of the &Kiety.
FiDaDeial Review
Reserves Policy
The Society's policy is that unTestri¢trd funds which have not been designated for a
specific use should be maintsined at a level of at least twelve months, expenditure.
The TTh￿teeS consider that Reserves at this level will ensure thaL in the event of a
significant drop in fijnding, they will be able to continue the Charity's CUTrent
activities while consideration is given to ways of raising additional funds. This level
of fi]n(Ls h&8 been maiTthned throughout the year. and at the year end the funds are
well in excess of this level. The Tn￿ believe that future con)mitments will utilise
Finan¢>al Position
The Society gener￿￿ a surplus of £4,571 in the year to 31 August 2025. (Surp1￿% of
£11,289 for the year to 31 August 2024). Reserves amounted to £212.￿)8 at
31 A￿8￿1 2025 (£208J37 at 31 August 2024).

The Clwity's Trustees are res￿nsIble for the preparation of the Acc07mts. The
Clwity's Tnths consider that an Audit is not required for the period under section
144(2) of the Cl)arities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act), and that an Independent Examination
is neede(L

My Examination v￿$ Carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by
the Clwity ConuDission. An ExaMi￿tion includes a review of the accounting recoTds
kept by the Cl]arity and a compari￿ll of the Accounts presented with those records. It
also includes Consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the Accounts, and
seeking explanations from you &s Tnths conc¢rning any such matters. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in
audit and consequently no Opinion is given as to whether the Accounts pr¢s¢nt a
