Risk Management

The Trustees are responsible for the risks faced by the charity and have reviewed the major risks and measures for their mitigation as part of an ongoing process. They are satisfied that the process adopted is adequate to identify and mitigate any impact which such risks might have on the charity or its activities in the future.

Objectives and Activities

The principal object of the charity is to provide a focus for Christian worship in South Ossett and to support the Community.

Regular Sunday Services and mid-weekly meetings were held throughout 2022

'Cafe Christos' a community support event on Fridays continued to attract 30/40 people each week.

Monthly Messy Church events were held on the afternoons of the fourth Saturday of each month (except August).

Debt and Benefit Advice and Post Natal Counselling was offered in partnership with the charity Lifeboat Community Project.

Financial Review

The church's finances continue to be soundly based.

There was a planned deficit ( in respect of student minister's college costs ) of £2.6k in 2022. A return to a balanced budget over the next twelve months is forecast.

Year end reserves of £14,814 (48% of annual turnover) were held on general account.

A fund raising event raised £5,500 which was placed in a

specific buildings account

Report of the Independent Examiner to the Elders and Members of South Ossett Baptist Church on accounts for the year ended 31st December 2022

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation

of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination, I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect :

accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act

or the accounts do not accord with the accounting records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the
