Richmond Mayoral AGM Report 2022/23 Administered by the Company of Fellmongers of Richmond The Alms Houses are still providing affordable accommodation for the elderly and the needy. Our Tower Street property downstairs bed-sit was vacant for a short time and we took the opportunity to completely refurbish it. It is now re-let. We have also replaced all the windows with double glazed units which caused us some problems with the local planners. We are updating all the heating and electrical systems in all four properties. We are also having a structural survey on Tower Street after finding cracks in the plaster work. Earlier in the year we took the decision to employ a local estate agent to manage the properties as we felt that we had not got the knowledge to check that we complied with the current legislation associated with rented property. We anticipate that by the end of 2023 we will have all properties refurbished and let. Our future ambitions would be to raise enough money to provide an additional house.
