R Hern Registered Charity Number 257883 Contents 1 Report of the Trustees 2 Independent Examiners Report 3 Statement of Financial Activities and Balance Sheet THE FRED ALDIS HOLIDAY FUND FOR CHILDREN REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES The trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2023. ## Compliance with requirements The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Statement of Recommended Practice "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" issued in October 2000. ## Objects of the charity The principal object of the charity in the year under review continued to be to provide holidays for poor, sick or deprived children resident in the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge, Havering and Newham. ## Reserves policy It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained at a level equivalent to between three and four month's expenditure. The trustees consider that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charity's current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. This level of reserves has been maintained throughout the year. ## Risk factors The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks. | declare, in my capacity of charity trustee, that the trustees have approved the report above and have authorised me to sign it on their behalf. An independent examination does not involve gathering all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently does not cover all the matters that an auditor considers in giving their opinion on the financial statements. The planning and conduct of an audit goes beyond the limited assurance that an independent examination can provide.
