BOUGHTON UNDER BLEAN VILLAGE HALL
CHARITY TRUSTEES. ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR TO 31 MARCH 2024
The Village Hall Charily is registered with the Charity Commissioners (no.. 257525) and constituted by a
Trust Deed.
The Boughton Under Blean Parish Council serves as the Sole Trustee ot the Village Hall.
The hall is managed by a committ8e consisting of Parish Councillors and dedicated volunteers.
The primary objective of the ¢h8rity is to maintain the village hall for thé benefit of Boughton Under 8lean
and its surrounding areas.
Our regular bookings reflect the diverse range of activities hosted at the hall. from dancing and off-road
model car racing to f8ncing class8s and amat8ur dramatics. The venue is also available for prtvat8
funclions and various social events. Additionally, Kent County Council operates a public library and
provides Gomputer facilities at the hall for both adults and chIld￿n in the community-
This year, we have strearnlined administration by introducing an online booking system. The
implementation of r8gular financial reporting has provided essential 10015 for both the Irustee and th8
managem8nl committ6e, allowing us to more èffectively address the hall's budget deficit.
Rising costs, P8rticu18rly utilities, remain a challenge, as the h811 is not energy effictent. Efforts are being
made to secure grants to help address this issue.
We have also experrenced significant changes within the management committee, with the unexpected
departure of the administrator & treasurer, and wmrnittee chair. How8V8r, these changes have created
opportunities. The newly appointed committee members and administrator are alfe8dy working towards
improving over811 management efficiency and reducing administrative costs.
The tr
need to manage the village hall with a busin8SS-like approach. With the
orking cornmittee, we are confident that we will continue to provide this v8rsatile
y for the local community and surrounding areas.
