The Charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The ChariVs trustees
consider that an audit is not required for the year under 5ertion 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (The
Charities Act) and that an Independent examination is required.
l am confident that the charity 15 not subject to audit under company law and is eligible for
independent examination, It Is my responsibllity to:

The Village Hall Charity is ￿gIStered with the Charity Commtssioners Ino: 2575251 and constituted by a Deed of
Trust. a copy of which 15 available on request.
Bou8hton Under Blean Parish Council is the &)leTrustee of the Willage Hall.
The objective of the Charity is to maintain the hall for the benefit of Bou8hton Under Blean and 5urroundin8
village5 and towns eto It aims to prowde first dass fadllties at an affordable cost. The Charity has a lettings
secretary. a part-tlmè dèaner. 3 p3rt-tlme malntenance worker and a keyholder. Regular ¢leanln&
maintenance and decorating keep the hall looking exceptionally well cared for and attracttve to hirers.
We continue to hold a Premtses lIcen￿ and pay annual royalties tor PRS for Music and PPL. to the Performln8
Rl8ht Soclety.
Our current insurance covers us for bulldin8 and contents. public Ilabllity and employer's Ilablllty. Regular health
and safety checks are carried along with fire risk assessments and records duty kepL
Our regular hlrlngs cover a wlde range of xtmtles Induding Modern Jive Uub. L8dles Group, Parent and
Toddler Group, Scrapbookin& Off-Ro3d Model Car Radn& Willage Hall meetings. Fenon8 aasses, The
Boughton Players Amateur Dramatl¢s and monthly auctions.
The hall provldes a venLtre for wedding receptlons, private famlty partles, dances, quIz2es. conferences, charlty
events, concerts and various other social evenlngs. The Ilbrary room Is booked for regular meetlngs and other
small groups.
Kent County Coundl proylde the Publlc Lbbrary and computer facilities at the hall for adults and children of the
local comrnunlty wlth four weekly sessk*ns.
TheCCTVsystem lsglvlng much Improved securltyofthe hall and surroundin8area. 8roadb•nd has also re¢entlv
been installed.
The heating system was updated and a ne* kitchen fft￿l in 2018 wtth the help of a grant from Vfjrldor. All of
our hirers. particulaTly our reguiats a￿ now reaping the beneffts of thtse Improvements to the villa8e hall. We
are hopin8 to have 501ar panels Installed and to refurbtsh the men's tolle5 durlrvd 2024.
We are very awarethat It Is necessary to run the ¥illa8e hall like a buslness concern and due to our hard-woiking
committee, we continueto provide this Mu￿￿fUnctIonal amenityforthe use bythe communlty and surrounding
areas.
