The Village Hall Charity ss re8t5tered with the Charity Commissioners {no: 2575251 and constituted by a Deed of
Trusi 3 copy of which is available on requesL
Boughton Under 81ean Partsh Counal ￿ thè Sole Trustee of the Wiljage Hall.
The objective of the Charity is to maintain the hall for the benefft of 8oughton Under Blean and surrounding
villages and towns etc. It asms to provide first dass facilrties at an affordable cost. The Charity has a lètting5
secretary, a part-time deaner. a part-time maintenance worker and a keyholder. Regular deantn&
maintenance and decorating keep the hall looking exceptionally well ored for and 3ttracttve to hirers.
We continue to hold a Premises Licence and pay annual royalties for PRS for Music and PPL to the Performin8
Right Society.
Our current insurance covers u5 forbuilding and contents. publÈc liability and employer's liability. Regular health
and safety checks are carried out alongwth fire risk assessments and records duly kept.
Our regular hirings cover a wide range of artrvities induding tiving LNely Singlng Group, Modern Jive Club,
Ladies Group. Parent and Toddler Group. ScrapiK)okin& Off-Road Model Car Raciw Willa8e Hall meetings,
Fencing Classes, The Bo*Jghton Players Amateur Dramati<s and monthty aurtions.
The hall provides a venue for Weddi1￿ recepttons, private famity parties, dan￿5. quizzes. Conferences, charity
events, concerts and variou5 Other social evenings. The library room L5 booked for regular meeting5 and other
small groups-
Kent County Council provide the Public knbrary and computer faciliti.es at the hall for adults and children of the
local community with four weekty se55ions.
The new ccrv system is gr￿n8 much improved 5ecurrty of the hall and surrounding area.
The heating system was updated and 3 new krtchen fitted in 2018 with the help of a grant from ITiridor. All of
our hirers. particularty our regulars are now wping the benefits of these improvements to the village hall. We
are hoping to replace the ceiling and I￿hts in the foyef durfing 2022.
We arevery aware that it is necessary to run thevillage hall like a business concern and due to our hard-working
committee, we continueto providethis multi-functional amenity forthe use bythe community and surroundin8
areas.

The Charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The Charl￿$ trustees
onsider that an audit is not required for the year under section 144 of the Charities Art 2011 (The
Charitie5 Act) and that an independent examination is required.
l am confident that the charity is not subject to audit under company law and 15 eligible for
independent examination, it is my responsibility to..
