9. Reserves Pollcv
In accordance wlth the requlrements of the a)arity Commission, the Executive Committee
ofthe FDI have adopted the following pollcy concernin8 reSe￿e funds {see minutes of the
meetlng held on 13th.Ortober 20011:
"The Friends of the Diocese of Iran IRegd.Charity No.2574831 differs from most other
UK charltable organisations In at least one major respect. Due to the sltuation in Iran
as at the date of adoption of this statement {13th.October 2001}, major expendlture
in line with the aims set out in the FDI Constitution {as revised in May 19941 is not
feasible currently, or likely to be so for some time to come. Nevertheless, this
situatlon could chan8e radically over a comparatively short perlod.
While not en8a8ln8 In 'fund-raising' as such, the FDI is nevertheless duty-bound to
malntaln and invest efficiently what reserves it can in such a way as to combine
growth with flexlbility. The short term aim is to be able to respond promptly to any
ur8ent needs arisin8 in the Diocese of Iran. For the longerterm. the aim is to
Increase the value of our reserves wrthout renderin8 them Inaccessible. This is to
enable us to launch ordination or other training programmes or capital projects at
short notice as soon a5 the opportunty arises"
This pollcy was renewed and reaffirmed on 9 February 2012.
