**Objects:** THE PUBLIC BENEFIT FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES IN ST IVES AND DISTRICT (HEREINAFTER CALLED THE BENEFIT AREA): (A) TO ENCOURAGE HIGH STANDARDS OF ARCHITECTURE AND PLANNING IN THE BENEFIT AREA (B) TO STIMULATE PUBLIC INTEREST IN AND CARE FOR THE BEAUTY, HISTORY AND CHARACTER OF THE BENEFIT AREA. (C) TO ENCOURAGE THE PRESERVATION, DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF FEATURES OF GENERAL PUBLIC AMENITY OR HISTORIC INTEREST IN THE BENEFIT AREA.

**Activities:** Monthly meetings with talks on subjects of local interest; informing people of local issues regarding environment, transport, flooding and planning; acting as consultees for Town, District and County Council proposals to secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic and public interest in our local area.
