**Objects:** (A) TO FOSTER INTEREST IN THE HISTORY AND ANTIQUITIES OF THE COUNTY BY VISITS AND LECTURES AND COLLECTION AND PUBLICATION OF RELEVANT INFORMATION. (B) TO PROMOTE, ENCOURAGE AND ASSIST IN EXCAVATIONS AND INVESTIGATIONS OF GENERAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL INTEREST. (C) TO OPPOSE AND PREVENT AS FAR AS MAY BE PRACTICABLE THE EXECUTION OF ANY INJURIES WITH WHICH ANCIENT BUILDINGS AND MONUMENTS OF EVERY DESCRIPTION WITHIN THE COUNTY MAY BE THREATENED AND TO COLLECT ACCURATE RECORDS THEREOF.
