The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for th8 year ended
31 March 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by
Charities.. Statement of Recomrnended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applioable in the UK and Ireland (FRS 102)
(effeclivp 1 $1 January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims.
The objectives of the company are: _
A. To assist by monetary grants SLJch members of the Fund and their widows, children and
dependant's as may be in necessitOU5 or impoverished circumStan￿s.
B. To make grants to Police charities and subscriplions lo such other charities as the
committee may decide.
The trustees believe the charity has achieved its objectives during th6 year. There have been no
changes in the Charity's policies during the year.
The trLJStees would confirm that there are no assets held by the Charity on behalf of another
Charity.
Public benefit
In planning activities, the trustees of the charity have paid due regard lo the Charity Commission's
guidance on publiG benefit. The Nottinghamshire Constabulary Benevolent Fund carry out a range
of activities in pursuan￿ of its charitable aims as listed above.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
The charity has continued to fund grant5 to members of the Fund and their widows, children and
dependents from monies raised from donations and investment income.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial position
There were no major changes in the Fund's activities during the year under review and none are
envisaged in the near ftrture., the fund continuing to receive monies by way of subscription from
members, donations, and investment income to use these monies to make monetary grants.
Reserves policy
The trustees have examined the charity's requirements for reserves in the light of the main risks lo
the fund. Significant income is generated from investmenls and therefore reserves are required lo
maintain this level of income to cover between 18 and 24 months of expenditure.
FUTURE PLANS
The Trustees envisage the charity continuing to achieve its objectives in the foreseeable future.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document
The charity is controlled by its governing document, a deed of trust, and constitutes an
unincorporated charity.

The Fund was establishad and operative from 1 April 1968. The Membership is open to all
members of either the Nottinghamshire or Nottingham City Police Benevolent Funds and 15 open to
all serving members of the force or ex-members of the force in such terms as tho committee shall
decide, The Fund is governed by the rules adopled.
Risk management
The Iruslees have a duty to identify 2nd review the risks lo which the charity is exposed and to
ensure appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error.

STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILITIES
The Iruslees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and the financial statements in
accordance with applicable law and Uniled Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom
Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
The law applicable to charities in England and Wales, requires the trustees to prepare finanaal
statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the
charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and
expenditure, of the charity for that period. In preparing those financial slalements, the trustees
are r8quired to.
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently-
observe the methods and principles in the Charity SORP
makejudgements and eslimales that are reasonable and prudent.
state whether applicable acGounting standards have been followed, subject to any maleiial
departure5 disclosed and explained in the financial statemenls,.
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inapproprtate to
presume that the charity will conlinue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper aGcounting records which disclose wth
reasonable accuracy al any time the finanoial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure
that Ihe financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and
Repc>rts) Regulations 2008 and Ihe provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible lor
safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for Ihe prevention
and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

I report lo the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended
31, March 2024 set out on pages five to twelve.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordan￿ with
the requiremenls of the Charities Ad 2011 ('Ihe Acl'}.
I repori in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the
Act and tyi carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicab18 Directions given by the
Charity Commission under section 145(51(b) of the Act.
Independent examinei's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matlers have come to my attention in
connection with the examination giving me Cause to believe Ihat in any material respect..
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the financial ststements
Th8 firtancial statements of the charity, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have
beerb prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP {FRS 102} 'Accounling and Reporting
by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their
accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in thè UK and
Republic of Ireland {FRS 1021 (as amended for accounting periods commencing 1 sl January
2019),, Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in
the UK and Republic of Ireland, EFA, the and the Charities Act 2011. The finanual
stalem?nts have been prepared under the historical cost convention with the exception of
investments which are included at market value, as modified by the revaluation of certain
assets.
Income
All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has
enlillement lo the funds, it is probable that the incomè will be received, and the amount can
be measured reliably.
Expenditure
Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive
obligation Gommitting the charity to Ihal expenditure, it Is probable that a transfer of
economic benefits will be required in settlement and the arnount of the Dbligalion can be
measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been
classified under headings that aggregate all cost related lo the category. Vvhere costs cannot
be directly attributed to particular headings, they have been allocated to activities cn a basis
consistent with the use of resources.
Grants offered subject to condicions which have not been met at the year-end date are noted
as a commitment but not accrued as expenditure.
Tangible fjxed assets
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation. Depreciation is
provided at rates calculated to write off the cost less residual value of each asset over rfs
expected useful life. as follows..

Taxation
The charity is exernpt from tax on its charitable aclivilies.
Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives al the discretion
of the trustees.
Restricted funds can only be used for particulaf reslricled purposes within the objects of the
charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular
restricted purposes.
