**during our 50th anniversary year to raise**
**funds for home haemo-dialysis project,**
**with specialist nurse appointed in 2020.**
**Following completion of the project, the**

**Welfare assistance to families**
**undergoing treatment is invaluable in**
**providing support when faced with**
**many difficulties.**
**Research projects are developing**
**practices that can be introduced into**
**clinic and improve outcomes for**
**children. The information is shared**
**throughout the specialty through**
**medical papers and presentations.**
**Projects have worked in conjunction**
**with other specialties at Alder Hey to**
**assess the impact of treatment, such as**
**chemotherapy, and other illnesses,**
**such as lupus, on children’s kidneys.**
**Support provided to enable a team to**
**enter British Transplant Games and**
**children attend with their parents and**
**siblings so the whole family can enjoy**
**the event. It helps all families as parents**
**can see how adults who were**
**transplanted as children have lived**
**active and fulfilling lives. The children**
**can meet others with similar challenges**
**of living with a transplant, and their**
**siblings meet other children who have**
