THE ROTARY CLUB OF BOURNEMOUTH CHARITIES FUND ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2025 Structure & Objectives of the Charity 1.1 The Charity is governed by a deed of settlement dated 4 December 1962 and registered with the Charity Commission under number 255377 and its principal address is c/0 The Fund Treasurer, la Brierley Close, Bournemouth BHIO 6EN 1.2 All trustees hold their office in an ex-officio capacity by virtue of the offices that they hold as members of the Rotary Club of Bournemouth. The Trustees who were in office during the year ending 30 June 2025 were.. Treasurer Secretary Council Representative Graham Paine Anthony Roberts Richard Whitham All trustees do not claim expenses. st 1.3 On l July 2025 Graham Paine and Richard Whitham ceased to be Trustees; Talbot Massey {as fund treasurer), Marjorie Marshall. Virginia George-Beck (on becoming President of Bournemouth Rotary Club) and Amanda Bampton {on becoming President Elect of Bournemouth Rotary Club} became Trustees. 1.4 The objectives of the Charity are to provide sUPPOrt in the relief of the sick and lonely and the old people resident within the territorial limits of the Rotary Club of Bournemouth and for any other charitable object the selection of the recipients or charitable object to be in the discretion of the members of the Rotary Club of Bournemouth represented in duly constituted Club Council.
Activities and Achievements in 202412025 2.1 The Trust income derives from donations from members of the Rotary Club of Bournemouth. other Rotary Clubs, legacies plus from members of the public. Gift Aid is claimed where appropriate. The Charity also has income from a Trust set up by a Rotarian over 50 years ago. The monies are invested with Standard Life Assurance and the Club receives 30% of the totsl income from this trust. The income for the year ended 30 June 2025 was £175,239. 2.2 Donations totalling £8,250 were made during the year ended 30 June 2025 which included £2,000 to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and £1,500 to the Alzheimers Society, to Help & Care and to Parkinsons UK. 2.3 There were no administration expenses incurred by the charity as all costs were met by individual Rotarians Financial Position At 30 June 2025 the Trusys bank and COIF balances including tax recoverable from H.M. Revenue and Customs were £174,794. The large increase in the annual balance in the year ending 30 June 2025 is entirely due to the two legacies received late in the financial year. The Council of the Rotary Club of Bournemouth has set up a legacy group to look into where the legacies would be best placed and St Mungo's charity has been identified for a significant donation.
