The trustees present their report along ￿ the financ￿1 S￿￿ements of the eharity for the ended 31 st March
2025. The financi81 statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out on page 7
and ccinply with th8 charivs trust de&J and appllcable law.

The Nash Concert Society Tr￿st Is constituted under a trust d¢ed dated 16th February 1W and is a registered
charity no.. 255017. The main objects of ￿ charity are..
Assisdng the perfomianc* of mustsl vths of the highest qualrty EM)th al home and abroad.
Promoting the dèvelopment of rnusical appreciation by th8 general public, by commissioning of new
works and perf0mlar￿ of unusual and $omeb"mes raffjty perfomied r8pertoire.
The advancement of musical &Jucation in general.
Organl$atton
A board of truste6s of up to 9 members. who meet a year administers the c*arity. An Arb5tic Direclor is
appointed to manage the day-lfyday operations of the charity.

rh& Ttustees are sad lo announ¢0 that our fwndor and artith diroctor Amella Freedman passed away on 28th Juty
2025 after 8 long illness. Havlng nurtured the Nash for 60 years. she gave her blessing fcrf the ensemble lo
continue under the direcb'on of Simon cr￿Ord¥h11llps and Adrian Br8fKlel. two ol the Nash musicians. In its
obituary The Daily Telegraph describ8d Amelia ag" argU8￿Y th& most influenknal Brilish Classical music impre$8rio of
the late 20th century. and she wlll bo greatly mis*J t*)th in the wder musical and by those of us in the Nash
'famill'.
The Nash continued their collaboTalion wilh Wigmore Hals as Reswjenl Chamber En$&mble' a cglebration of
the Ensemble's 60th anniversary. To mark the anniversary the ensembbe performed a series compn'sing some of the
group's favourite works of the genre. Stimulating programmes.superb artists and a commitment lo the finest
composers of our time through exten￿Ve commiss￿l￿g lay al the heart of Ihe 2024125 season. The Ensemble also
¢ommissiongd a garfar￿ of new works from eight composers ￿0M the group hag had 8 long asso¢iation'. Colin
Mallhews, David Matthews.M8rk-Anthoney Tumage. John Casken, Simon HolL Helen Grime, Huw Watkins and
Jullan Anderson.
In addition the Nash Inventlons concert on 18th March 2025 included past commissions by the g￿81 Ameri¢an
composer Elliot Carter and Peter Maxwell Dawes's mastenhY)rk his string quintet, written especially for the ensemble.
We continued our collaboration Side by Side wth the Roydl Academy of Music's in$trumentsl players and composors.
Nash muslc4an Alasdair Beatson { piano) coached the students and then l¢x* part in the'side by Side, concert on
18th March 2025 al Wigmore Hall. The Nash commi88ioned Iwo RAM composers Yan Ee Toh ar￿ Alexander Papp to
write new pieces for the occasion.
Yan Ee Toh, RAM student composer. said . The opportunFty to have my work performed at Wigmore Hall, especially
as an Inlern8tional student, has been extremely fuffilling and a dream come true. Not only was it instrumental lo
my career development as a composer. but havtng my muxic brought l01rf9 in Wigmore Hall was a truty spgcial
experlence.. Alexander Papp said ' It was an incredible experience lo have my piece 'FFIACTURE' performed at
Wigmore H811. Under the guidance of Alasda5r from Nash Ensemble. the insigm. musI￿anshiP , and generous
mentorship brought new depth to the music. HeariThJ it come to lrfe in such a prestigKJus venue was truly
unforg8tlablg and I'm deeply grateful for the Op￿rtUnIty to and collaborate in such an insFrfring setting..
The Nash recorded a CD of works by Ravel for the Onyx Label, thich És due for the release latsr in 2025.
The Ensemble's CD pf Debussy chamb9r music c(mtinued to gamer exceltent reviews. and a Vin￿ Lp of the recording
is also dug for rel8ase in 2025.

The Nash ￿Ltter account is still exFertly managed by Lvz Menies. and the Fr￿ndS of the Nash continued their
enthusiastic and invaluable support of the Group, adminstered by Leor Segal. wrth financial help towards the
concerts and commissions. The Nash continues to invaluabty supported by its administrator Matthew Brailsford.

and advice.
