Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
One of our main achievements is the help we give the local children in our district with a visit to The Beamish Museum. A large proportion of the children would never get the chance to make this visit. It is very educational and we take advantage of the activities at Beamish Museum We also have our Consett Memory Makers Dementia Friendly Choir who meet every week along with our Memory Café which meets monthly. We are in the process of organising The Consett Prostate Cancer support Group along with a support group for Diabetes. Our International Committee raised funds to enable them to send funds to the Rotary Club of Arusha in Tanzania to help with the project improving Water supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in schools. The benefits include: a reduction of days missed from school, giving more time for learning and increased dignity and safety, particularly for girls and the disabled. We also support RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) which is a leadership development programme for teenagers and young adults. We support by sending two 17/18-year-old on the programme on a week’s programme of activities from hands on, physical challenges to presentations and workshops.
We give financial support for food banks and local community groups.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT
Rotary Club of Consett
| On accounts for the year ended | 30th June 2025 |
|---|---|
| Charity no | 254908 |
| Respective responsibilities of | The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under |
| trustees and examiner | section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act)) and that an independent |
| examination is needed. | |
| It is my responsibility to | |
| examine the accounts (under section 43 of the Act), | |
| follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the | |
| Charity Commission (under section 43(7)(b) of the Act), and | |
| state whether particular matters have come to my attention. | |
| Basis of independent examiner’s | My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given |
| statement | by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the |
| accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts | |
| presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual | |
| items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees | |
| concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all | |
| the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not | |
| express an audit opinion on the accounts. | |
| Independent examiner's statement | In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention: |
| 1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the | |
| trustees have not met the requirements to ensure that: | |
| proper accounting records are kept (in accordance with section 41 of the | |
| Act); and | |
| accounts are prepared which agree with the accounting records and comply | |
| with the accounting requirements of the Act; or | |
| 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a | |
| proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. | |
