Geor8e de Voil was appointed to replace Paul leanes after his resignation. He ha5 given us a new Impètus.
He pushes us to sin8 better and encourages us to sing rogether. This 15 something ihat he does with charm,
elegance and confidence. We are lucky to nave him leading IJS. He is also very good at spottin8 talent and he
has been excellent at choosing musicians and soloists lor our concerts.

We have continued our recruitmÈnt drive and we have seen a pleasirtg number of new members joining us.
The number of members is around 80.
We 8a¥e three successful concerts..

and the setting up ol the orche5tra.' the dress rehearsal Bot better and better. The evenin8 performance
turned into an evening of musical delight.
GeorBe de Voil mana8ed to turn the Chapel acoustlc5, the orchestra, the choir and the or￿n into a beautlful
and 51ngle unlfled ple¢e.
The Chameleon Arts Orchestra were very sensrtive our rteeds and ihey were able to iespond to the powerful

Ben de 5tsuza.
The concerr went well. George's per5everante and exigence made us sound Pretty good on the night.
Flnanclal Revlew
Activities for the year generated a modest loss ovefall ot E81XI. Our G¢xlalmin8 Childien's Choir, formed In
September 2023. does not produce separate formal accounrs and it5 financial activities are included within
the annual account5 of the Society.. the outcome combines the los$ 01 £2.350 made by the Children's Choir
with the aduli choir profit of £1,550. The Children's Cho&r was formed wilh stand-alone fundin8 from a
foundation donation by our former Chaifflian. and reiains sufficient resources from thai and subsequent
fundraising to continue lor at leasi a further 12 months in its exsStin8 format.. we are however reviewin8 that
format with the aim of attracting more childTen io participate, and exploring addltional lundinK sources lo
address its continuing viability. More widely, donations and other fund-rai5in8 attivities continue to help the
Societvs finances.
Our concerts over thè year made a1055 of £1,830 in total. of which £1,670 arose from our performance of
MÈndelssohn's Elijah: even with strong tscket sales il 15 difficult to break even on large productions with
orchestra and solotsts. held in prestigious Venues.

The trustees, policy on reserve5 in the Bradish Beque￿ funds remains broadly unchan8ed they will still
essentially be used to generate investment income and fund exception31 future planned capital expenditure.
The members have approved the allocation of up to £3.OCKJ each year from the Bradish Bequest funds, if
required, to augment performance resources for an annual -Bradi5h Concerf in memory of the benefactor
who bequeathed these fund5 to the Society.
Investment policy remains conservative & under regular review.. we arè considering chan8in8 our banking
arr3n8ements with a view to increasinB the interest income on our ￿selVes.
No fund5 are held by the Society a5 Custodian irustees on behalf of others.
Rlsk Man•￿Ment
The trustees perform regular reviews of the Society's operation5 and strategic objettives to ensure adherence
to its principal chariiable object5 and financial controls. They are satisfied thèt there are sufficient Systems
artd Procedures in place to identify and address in a timely manner those risks thatthe Society may lace from
time to time. A ton5tant potential fisk throughout any seasort is that of having to cancel one or moreconcert5
at short nottcè. Impltmentation of the Reserves Poli¢ry above together with subscriptlon to Making Music's
inSUfan¢e ￿herne 15 agreed by the trustees as being of an adequaie nature io minimize this particular risk.
Publlc B•nellt
In the local area ihe Society actively promote5 panicipaiion in choral sln8in8'. we offer free tickets to those
under 18 to help stimulate interest in choral music am¢)n8 younger age groups.
We participate in local activities where possible and we also run event5 open to r￿n.MeMbers, such as our
sin8ln8 workshops.
It 15 our opSnion that the trustees ol iht So*iety have complled wlth their duty to have due regard to the
guidance on public benefit published by the Commission In exerclsin8 th•." powers or duties.
