B) TO STIMULATE PUBLIC INTEREST IN AND CARE FOR THE BEAUTY HISTORY AND CHARACTER OF THE AREA OF THE TOWN AND ITS SURROUNDINGS. C) TO ENCOURAGE THE PRESERVATION, DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF FEATURES OF GENERAL PUBLIC AMENITY OR HISTORIC INTEREST. D) TO PURSUE THESE ENDS BY MEANS OF MEETINGS, EXHIBITIONS, LECTURES, PUBLICATIONS, OTHER FORMS OF INSTRUCTION AND PUBLICITY, AND PROMOTION OF SCHEMES OF A CHARITABLE NATURE.

**Activities:** Engaging with local authorities, local community organisations, the general public etc to maintain the outstanding quality of Hexham and to promote its interests as a commercial, social and residential community and to find a balance between development and conservation.Arranging public talks and discussions on topical and local issues.Publishing a regular Newsletter.
