Investment policy
Truslees, having sought appropriate advice, are mindful of their obligations under general trust law and relevant
legislation lo seek to proleGI the long lenn'real. value of the assets they administer, whilst maximising in¢ome.
Due regard is given lo the need to take a long leim view which may. for specific periods. involve generating a
lesser current income in the interests of per¢eived greater capital protecb'on andlor gr0￿h. The Iruslees, policy
sees a dislinctlon between short-lemi and long-lemi funds.
Short term funds are held lo provide financial security, and may be required al short nolice. As such significant
capital volablity cannot be loleraled and inveslmenl of these assets wll focus on minimising this.
In respect ol any funds considered to be long-lem) in nalure, the Itustees see their long term aim as requiring a
balance of income and capital relurn. Theii desi￿ is to ensvie that future generations are able to benefit from the
¢harities' resources. at least lo a similar extenl a5 present benefi￿arles.

divert income lo build substantial general reserves. However, Ihe Boaiil recognises the benefit tsf the additional
security that would accrue from the holding of appropriale reserves and intends, as and when the Trust's financial
circumstances allow and subject to the agreement of the funding bodies, to seek lo achieve sufficient general
