The names of all committee members are shown in the notes to th¢ a¢¢ounts and arc subject to rc-elcction at the AGM. AII meMr5 of the committee give ihcir lime voluntarily and receive no bencfits from the society. Young people, thai have expressed an interest in the show, arc ¢ncourdged to join the committee in order to secure the society's long-tenn future and broaden the Skill base of the committee. OIUF.CTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Thc aim of the society 15 10 organise an annual show for the public benefit of the peopl¢ of Minsterley and the surrounding area. The annua] show promotes agriculture and its a550ciated crdfts through compctition and educational ¢Ahibitions. The show feathr¢s sections for horses, dairy and beef cattle. sheep. poultry, goats, horticulture and handicrafts. The Society aims to slrength¢n social networks and rther improve support to the agricultUTal comrnunity and to young rural p¢ople whilst also Tea¢hing out to the wider urban population. The society arranges social events to further suptM)rt the show financially. and involve thc local community in the shows patronagc. PUBLIC BEL¥EFIT The Irustees have referr¢d to the guidance contsined in the Charity Commissions. general guidance, on public bcn¢fiting, when revicwing the aims and obje¢iives of the soci¢ty and in planning fure activities. The Irustees are pleased io report that it is able to providc oiher ¢harities and organisations with free trdde stand space; these are namely Rca Vall¢y YFC, R.A.B.l., Lingen Davies Cancer Appe&l. Shropshirc Rural SupporL Midlands Air AKnbulance, Scvcrn Flospice. Shropshir¢ Blood CaD¢er Group at]d Community Wcllbeing Outrcach. The society sponsors, in its entirety. a'*illage green area where prof¢55ional enlertaiDcrs cntertain and ¢ducate both young and old alikc. This area of thc showground has always attracted considerable interest. On a biennial basis Bishops C&stle and Onny Valley Rugby Union Football Club have the use of the main maTqu¢e and its associated InF$tCtUre, at a greatly rcduced rate. for a Suftday lunch. This is their only fund- raising venture and it ensures that the club can ttlaintain its exccllent standards of Coaching and support to several teams of young players. Thc tru51ees. with committ¢¢ approval, also giv¢ consideration to occlsional bursaries for young people living in the area to either furtELer thcir sdIeS or to provide sponsorship for educational trips.

The trustecs note that the society holds reserve5 cquivalent to ovu two ye, expendilure and regard this as a prLEdcnl financial position. FUTURE PLANS The TrusleLs are pleased lo report that plans are ongoing for the staging of next year's show, which will bc held on Saturday 151h August 2026. This will be the third show at the current site. The lease is for a thr¢e year tertn and the Trustees have asked the Committee to review options for the 2027 show and beyond. VAT Thc Society is not regislcred for VAT. The in¢ome for th¢ year hls excccded to the VAT registrdtion threshold of £90.000. 'l-h¢ Society considers that the annual show falls with the VA T cxemption for fundraising events under Group 12 of Schedul¢ 9 to the VA'f Act 1994. A¢¢ordingl)', the gate admissions ore exempt sales for VAT and the Society has not exceeded the VAT registration threshold. The S(ciety has reviewed whether a voluntary VAT registration should be made and d¢tern)ined that it is not beneficial to do so. This will be k¢pl under revicw. FINANCIAL REVIEW Thc Society's Receipts and Payments Account for the year end¢d 20 September 2025 shows a surplus for the period of £20,610. C&sh reseNes stixKI at £220,820 at the ycar end. The 2025 show had an exccllcnt attendance which was reflected in record gate reccipts and conlinucd growth in trade stands income. There was a tnarginal reduction in costs for the 2025 despite continued inflalionary ris¢s in costs duc to a redu¢tion in security Costs and lowei maintenance ¢05ts for thc skkow ground. A third of th¢ surplus for the vear was generated from investment income. The Society continues to monitor it's investment to Secu the best levcls of returns on a risk adjusted basis.
