**Objects:** TO PROMOTE AND FOSTER THE AMENITIES OF THE CITY OF WINCHESTER AND THE SURROUNDING DISTRICT BY SEEKING TO CONSERVE THE CHARACTER OF THE CITY BY PRESERVING AND PROTECTING ITS BUILDINGS AND BY SPONSORING AND ENCOURAGING REBUILDING AND REDEVELOPMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE BEST ARCHITECTURAL STANDARDS AND THE EXISTING CHARACTER OF THE CITY AND DISTRICT. **Activities:** To seek to conserve the character of the City of Winchester and its surrounding area by: conserving and protecting its buildings, spaces, artefacts, landscape and setting. Sponsoring and encouraging new buildings, redevelopment, landscaping and conservation in accordance with the highest architectural standards. Promoting awareness of the above.
