The society, which is a registered charity in England and Wales. 15 operated under the rules of ils
Conslilulion dated 21 January 1996. as amended 11 May 2000 and 1 June 2006. The Management of
the Trust is the resFK)nsibility of the trustees who are elected and CO￿pIed under the terms ol the
Conslilulion.
Recruitment and appointment of new twstees
Trustees have lo be elected each year al the AGM. Trustees are not automatically re-elected.
Organisational structure
All decisions are taken collectively by the ttuslees and meetings for that purpose are held when
required in addition lo the AGM. All Iruslees give of Iheir lime fredy and are unpaid. Details of any
bellefils or expenses received ale showrb as applicable in note 11 to the accounts.

Objectives and activities
Objectives and aims
The society, which is a recognised charity in England and Wales. is operated under the rules of ils
Conslilulion dated 21 January 1996. as amended 11 May 2000 and 1 June 2006 The managemènt of
the Trust is the responsibility of the ttuslees who are elected and co-opted under the terms of the
Conslilulion.
The principal object of the sctiety is to save by all means FK)ssible Ihe lives of as many deslitule
animals as possible by providing food, shelter and veterinary attention and lo find homes for as many
animals as possible. There have been no changes in the objectives since the last annual report.
Public benefit
In setting our objectives the society has given careful consideration to the Charity Commission'5 public
benefit guidance.
Achievements and performance
Charitable activities
The principal object of the society is to save by all means possib￿ the lives of as many deslilule
animals as possible by providing food, shelter and veterinary alien11￿ and lo find homes for as many
animals as possible.
The Iruslees are in the prO￿sS of winding down the charity and havè been looking for other charities
which will further the charity's purpose to transfer the funds and assets to.
Financial review
Financial position
The fund represenls the unreslricled funds arising from past operats.ng results. It also represents the
free reserves of the charity. The trustees are satisfied that the balance ol the fund P1.452,448 las
shown in note 15 to the accounts) is sufficient to cover the anbcipaled expenditure for the foreseeable
future.
Investment policy and performance
The investment policy of the sctiety is both emphasis on capital growth with modest risk and
reinvesting income. During the year the society have not disposed of any inveslmenls. The
investments generated income of £29.071 {2023 £18.2201 in line wlh the trustees, expeclalions. In a
year where Interest rates continued to rise and the markel performance of the listed investments was
stronger the swiety is showing an unrealised profil on the market valje of the listed investments al the
balance sheet dale of £26,491 {2023 - £4.2581.
Future plans
The plan is lo continue lo wind down the charity in an orderly way. The assets remaining after the
satisfaction of any proper debts and liabilities will be transferred to such other charitable inslilulions or
inslilulions having objects similar lo the objects of the society as detetmined by the Iruslees in
accordance with clause 24 of the conslilulion and rules.

I report to the Iruslees on my examination of the financial slalements of The Society For The Rescue
of Deslitule Animals I'lhe charity) for Ihe year ended 26 July 2024.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparthon of the financial 5talemenls in
accoidance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act l.
I report in re5pe¢l of my examination of the charity's financial slalemenls carried out under section 145
of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given
by the Charity Commission under section 1451Sllb} of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come lo my allenlion in
connection with the examifiation giving me cause lo believe that in any mateiial respect..

These financial slalements have been prepafed in Complian￿ with FRS 102. The Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Repubiic of Ireland,. the Slalemenl of
Recommended Placti￿ applicable to charities preparing Iheii accounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and RepuLlic ol Ireland IFRS 1021 (Charities
SORP IFRS 1021} and the Charities Act 2011

Basis of preparation
The financial ststements have been prepared on the hislotical cost basis, as modified by the
revaluation of certain financial assets and liabilities and investment proterties measured al fair
value through income or expenditure.
The financial statements are prepared in slerting. whtch is the luncb.onal currency of the entity.
Going concern
There are no material uncertainties about the charitys ability toconts'nue.
Judgements and key sources of estimation uncertainty
The preparation of the financial slalemenls requires management lo make judgements,
eslimales and assumptions that affect the amounts reported. These estimates and judgements
are continually reviewed and are based on experien￿ and other factors. including expectations of
future events that are believed to be reasonable under the circufftstances.
Fund accounting
Unreslricled funds are available lor use al Ihe discretion of the trustees lo further any ol the
charity's purposes.
Designated funds are unreslricled funds earmarked by the trustees fof particular future project or
comm11menl.
Reslricled funds are subjected to reslriclions on their extwditure declared by the donor or
through the terms of an appeal. and fall into one of sub-dasses." restn.cled income funds or

Incoming resources
All income is included in the statement of Iinancial activities when enlillemenl has passed lo the
charity. it is probable that the economic benefits associated wlh the transaction will flow to the

Income from donations or grants is recognised when Iheie is evidence ol enb'tlemenl lo the gift,
receipt is probable and its amount can be measured reliably.
Legacy income is recognised when re￿Ipt is probable and ent￿ement is established.

Expenditure is recognised on an akncruals basis as a liability is mcurred. Expenditure includes any
VAT which cannot be fulty recovered, and is classified under headings ol the slalemenl of
financial activities lo which il relates..
Expenditure on chaTitable aclivib.es includes all costs incurred by a tharity in undertaking activities
that further ils charitable aims for Ihe benetit of 115 beneficiar￿5, including Ihose suptK)rt costs

Other expenditure includes all expenditure that is neilher related to raisir@ fvnds for thè charity
nor part ol its expenditure on charitable actwilies.

Investments
Unlisted equity investments are initially recorded at cost, and subsequentty measured at fair
value. If fair value cannot be reliably measured, assets are measured at cost less impairment.
Listed investments are measured at fair value wth changes ￿ lair value being recognised in
income or extEndilure.
Impairment of fixed assets
A review lor Indicators of impairment is carried out al each rekK)rting dale, wth the recoverable
amount being estimated where such indicators exist. Where the carrying value exceeds the
recoverable amount. the 2ssel is impaired accordingly. Prior Impairments are also reviewed for
possible reversal at each reporbng date.
