Reopening
YMCA Borry Gymnaliics started the year
"Il in lock down from COVID-19 and spent
Apiil ensuring the thIldr￿ had occess to gymnostics through Zoom sessions ond
outdoor troining session& However. the club finally ￿CeIved the news it wos waiting
to heor: sport clubs were ollowed to reopen and ￿SUMe octtvities from Moy 2021.
YMCA Barry storted its phosed reopening from the 3rd May 2021. Thi5 w05 initially
just for the odvonced gymnosts ond oll other gyrnnostics sections closely followed
from the 10 th Moy 2021 with excepti￿ of Gymtots. The porent ond child
Gymtots sessions resumed from the 1st June 2021. The reopening of the
gymna5tic5 club has been successful with the cooches workin9 extremely hord to
ensure thot they delivered eryoyoble ond sofe sessiw5.

The Gymnastics for All wtKJn of the club c¢*r5all the classes forfive years and overthèt
last between one and t¥w hours.This is the largest section in the club with over 650
children accessing the fC41ov￿n9 cla55e5 the last year- Female, Male & Mixed
GymJuniofS.Teen GymnaslKs, Gymspire. Home EdUcal￿n Gym.Trampolining. Disability
Gymnastics and Adult Gymnastlc&The Gymnastic5 for All programme 15 deskJned to ensure
that everyone can find a place wthin the g￿nastiC5 programme.The ethos of these
classes is forgymnasts to havef￿1 and progress in gymnastK5 at a level appropriate to
th*m.The GymJunlors¢lasses help chlldren t￿lId on their physical literacy and enhance
thelrgymnastlcs basks to vnrk towards m￿e complex gymnastks skill& Some of the
children will then progress to Gymswewhere the gymnxts wll vThk toward5 theWÈlsh

TumbllngGymnastks
Tumbling gymnasttcs is oneof the Tr￿re recent a(klitions to the gymnastics timetable and
allows gymnasts who may struggle to compete on all apparatusa competition pathway.
The club currentty has fifteen gymnasts working lowardstumbling specific competitions
and seven gymnasts secured a plèce V•ithin the South Area WelshTumbling Squad.
