Flnanclal Revlew, InvestThnt Polky and Reserves
The Financial year runs from the 1 April to 31 March each year. accountln8 Standards set out in the
CharSty CM)mlsslon's accountln8 regulations have been f<Alowed.
The long-term Fmpact of the Cov?d pandemic and the associated impact on the physical and mental
wellbeing of members continues and even now, many are still reticent to return. We have also stru8gled
to recruit new members in volume and are, therefore, still below pre pandemic lerfeis of membership and
the number of meals seNed. As a result and with the reduction in furKlin8 (see below), the Trustees took
the unhappy decision to concentrate efforts at the T￿r Club site.
Historically, the As%)ciation received a substantial annual grnnt from the London Borough of Hlllingdon
ILBHI. Unfortunately, financial pressures in the BlY￿h have resulted in our grant (and other grant5 to
similar organisations in the borou8h) being halted. The Association did ￿ceIve a final grant from
HS21Groundworks UK of £33,036, and a number of smaller donations, for which are very grateful. The
reduction of the LBH grant, and the ongoing reducti(Jn in membership aNI n￿al provlslon, has meant that

considerable evaluation and planning by the Trustees. A5 a result. at the erKJ of March 2024, it was decided
to close the Elm Park operation, wlth resulting staff redundancies.
Thi5 was a Sad decision for all the t￿￿tee5 armj meynbefs, who were encwaged to transfer their
membership to the ongoing service at the Tudor Club. Many of these members have transferred and
continue to dlne there.
In 2022123, The Assoclation recelved a genero￿ £2,iKiI legacy donatim specifically to supwrt The Sunday
Afternoon Tea {SATS) activit7es. As a result. much of the costs for the teas prov?ded this year have been
covered by thls donation, untll exhausted.
Membership is currently at circa 120 and the number of meals ser¥ed this year was circa 7,(m, way below
the pre pandemlc levels of circa 2(K) and 12,500 respectively.
The Tudor Clubs contlnues additional after meal club activities to members.
No major capital expenditu￿ wa5 made during the year and all physlcal a55et5 have been fully depreciated.
The Tudor Club site is rented from the Borough of Harrow.
Without the LBH 8rant, reduced meal iKome and with cost of livinq increases. partlcularly electrlclty
and food, flnancially the operational actfvlty for the AsxKlatlon Ilncludin8 the T￿lor Club actlvitiesl had
an Income of £103,658 with Experxliture of £122,162 and ￿ made a deflcit of £18,504 compared to the
deficit of £67 in 202312024. Without The Tudor Club activitie5 the 2024125 operational Loss was £19,110.
In order to try to mltlgate the lon8er-term financial Issues, the Trustees reco8nlse the need to Investl8ate
alternatlve 8rant opportunlties. In addltion, we are locA(in8 at meal char8es and occupancy and are
focusin8 the marketing of the Association to recruit new members. As a result, we have established an
improved website, with associated improvements to our social media presence. ThTS is particularly directed
at the families of new, potential members. Plus, we have provided leaflets to local librarie5, doctors,
surgerles and other relevant local charities ie.8. H4ALL and Age UKI. However. the Trustees recognlse the
negative future economic prospects of Association qoin8 forward.
The Assoclatlon contlnues to be very grateful to the hard M)rk arml support of all our staff and of the
many volunteers who save over 1,1JX) hwrs of thelr tlme durfn8 year. Gratitude is also extended to
the organisations wh) support the Association and membership artivities particularly throu8h vthat
contlnues to be a dlfficult tlme, physScally, mentally and financially.
Our main banking Is undertaken throwh CAF Bank current and Gold accounts. To maximise interest Income
we transferred the Reseprfe monies from NS&I into CAF Gold Account. This gives access to the deposits
should it be needed at short notice. The A550ciation Trustees continue to review its policy on reserves
givlng weight to current events vthich affect the running of the charity. The reserves have been established
to support the operation of the services, incI￿ling rent. supplies, utilities arrtl staff costs for 6 months,
plus staff redundancy costs. As a result £60,IXM) has been allocated ￿tiOnallY within the Gold Account.
The Elm Park bank account has been retained to be used as the account for the Gift Ald senAce. Oaily
attendance sheets quantify meal incLvne to match to barl( cash receipts and all bank payThent transactions
require a second userltrustee authorisatw)n.
