Purpose of Mothers. Union - to bo
specifically concerned with all that
strengthens and preserves marriage and
family life. Its objectives are to uphold
Chrisfs teaching on the nature of
marriage and promote its wider
understsnding. To encourage parents
to bring up their children in the falth and
life of the Church. To maintain a
worldwide fellowship of Christians
united in prayer. worship and service.
To promote conditions in society
frdvourable to stable family life and the
protection of children. To help those
whose famil life has met with adversi
There have been a variety of activities
within the Diocese. Grants have been
made to those families who are facing
adversity through the holiday schem8
AFIA{Away From It All). Local schools
have been supported financially with
grants for outings to those pupils
unable to afford the cost and sanitary
packs have been distributed for girls in
the final year of primary school. The
members of Mothers, Union visit the
prisoners in Low Newton prlson wlth
regular worship and support at
Christmas time. The charity raises
awareness of domestic violence with its
ongoing campaign RISE UP. This is
supplemented with practical support for
the many Womens, Refuges within the
Diocese. Members continuo to support
the vunerable in their communities with
practical help.. .local foodbanks, care
home visiting, emeryencies toiletries in
A&E dpartments in local hospitals. The

As the charitys truslees, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordan￿ with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011
('the Acr).
I report in resped of my examination of the Trust's accounts carriod out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrwng out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 145{5)(b} of the Act.
