This is the first year of the Tri8nnium 2025- 2027.
Having not been able to appoint a President for this new Triennium. our Trustee Board is
comprised of a Vice President. 4 Truste8s and our Diocesan Chaplain. have met regulaty to
pronN)te the vBion of Mother5. Union {MU) of a workl where Gr*J's h)ve is shown through loving,
respectful and flourishing relat￿nshIpS and the Promot￿ of Chri$ban family valu8S.
In 2025 there were 591 memters of which 308 were DIC￿san Me￿A)erS. In addrtion. we had 76
Prayer Circle Friend¥ (PCFS). All rrembers. except for the PCFS, paKI an annual subscription of
£39 ofwhich £23 was sent to Mary Sumner House {natM)nal headquarters). The trerKI of branches
¢lo$ing and moving on to Dic¢esan memtws, Groups or indp41dual DicKesan Membership
ntinued.

membership to MU. This was launched fft wii.
In May, on behaff of the DN)cese, l attended a prowncral rreeting (Canterbury Province) at Highgate
House, Creaton, Northants. Most of our Trustee rneeting$ were held over Zwm bul we did have 3
in person. 3 Diocesan meeb'ngs. open to all ffembers. were atso held. The Spnng Sharing Day in
April, the AGM in July 8nd the Autumn Sharing Day in November
All vrffjmbors receNed 3 i55U88 of Ne￿ine. tyjr dlocesan magazlr*, an invaluable resource for
keeping them up to date with the pro1￿ts and thrtres ofthe DK)cese. Outreach projects Include
cfflgoing relationships wth 4 women's reftjges, supptying slarter p¥ks for women ft￿ing on into
the communty containing kitchén utensils, bedding etc. also gave out Easter eggs. Advent
calendars and Christmas grfis for their chiklren. as well as paying for coaches for day trips. The
Azalea proiert whth supports of M￿DaY Slavery, rs a&0 given various goods. Wle
have links with 6 hospitals provKling knrtted aThJ sthvn artKles for netrnatal and children'$ units,
actiwty bags, Christmas st(xkings and soft toys to the x-ray departrnent for children undergoing
potentsalty stressfvl wocedures. Knilied blankets and ga￿r￿nts are a150 provRJ&J for overseas,
cards for pri%)ners and memry ix>oks for those in Care homes. Our Prq'ect Fund was bolste￿d by
a transfer of £2,000 from our general funds. and in addition we sent £2.fM from general funds to
MSH for the Britain and Al Ireland Fur•J.

Mothers. Union the of SL Abans ￿ a regtster&J and.as such, is required ty the Charrty
Commission to have a policy regarding the reserves of ffoney that rt retsins. Responsibil
frJr establtshing an appropriate Reserves Policy lies wrth the Trusteé& The Trustees must be
able to demonstrate why the holding of a partular levd of reserves ts right for the chanty, bl
reference to the charttys ￿rrent posrtion and wospects.
MU Diwese of St Albans has two major sources of funds - [r￿nber$. Subscriptions and the
mnies raised for spectfic MU funds. Some spectfic or "Restricted" monies for MU Funds ara
eived by MU Diocese of St Abans for onward trar6mission to the Mkn5' Union. MU
Dio¢e5e of St Albans has no ongoing liabilities li re¥*ct of the projects funded these
monies, for which th8 Mothers, Union is responsible.
MU of St Afbarts also has its Restrirted FLnJ4 tr example. Away From It All
IAFIAI, held for regularly approved di¢￿san w0j￿ts for whth there ar8 no ongoing liabilit18$
t￿uSe any expendrture onty equals the donations received for that Fund. There k8 no need
for MU Diccese of St Albans to maintsin reserves in respect of the restricted funds. Any
b818nce8 held Sh￿Id be shown in the nonmal ￿￿r8e of accounting
