community in the fields of welfare, houshg, community care, n)enlal hèalth, education, employTnenldebl and lamlly
k%sues. The Centre provKlps Advice and Infomiation on varK)us other issues lo hdp service users lo access
mainstream services. The Centre has eypanded its target group lo all Black ancl Minority Ethni groups.
Achlevernents and Perforniance
Since COVKJ started n 2020 there has been incre0se in the number ol people acCes￿ng the welfare sysl&m. Wè
have noticed sharp r&8 in number of p8ople applying lor disability benelks. Cost ol INing has had detrim8nlal
impact on peoples, INes since 2020. We managed lo secure a grant from Manchester City Council to wpport
some of the vulnerable indivKluals and lamlies aCTOSS Manchester. We oller benelhs adviee over the phone and
laeé-lo-face appointments at our office and Gorton Community Central.
Wg have also s8cured grani lo prov￿9 Emotional Wèllbeing SeNice lo South Askqn communty in Manch8sler,
funded by Greater Manchester ICB Ihtsgrated Care Board).
Although we have not been succ8s51ul in securing fU￿ting lor the Welfare Rights PTojecl, we continue lo provlde
this sarvice on a voluntary ba5Ls from live various locations across Manchestsr and Traflord. We have seen direct
impact of Brexit on our setViGe. During the year we have seen shary) rise in w@Ilare benelils claimants who have
come to the UK from Ihe EEA IEuTop&an Econom￿ Are81. Majorty ol the claims were for social housing, Universal
Credit and school admL%slons. People came w¢(h Immkjrallon qu8rSes as well, bul they were slgnposled lo
appropriato SerV￿e5.

cornmencernent of each fiscal year and the actual Incomlng and oijtgoing resources are monitored quarterly.
