The main activities of the Mission are: 

- a. To provide a place for Divine worship; 

- b. To impact religious or other instruction; 

- c. To enable meetings for the furtherance of any religious charitable or benevolent purpose; 

- d. To provide schools for education of the poor of Newcastle upon Tyne, whether children or adults; 

- e. To provide a residence for the pastors in connection with the mission;

## Section D                      Achievements and performance 

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

The charity sold the mission building a few years ago, the capital proceeds together with the cash reserves are actively managed by advisors Brewin Dolphin on the basis of total return with the aim to provide income of circa 3% (achieved in 2022: 2.75%).  The trustees reviewed the income and growth of the fund and were satisfied with the results, the trustees also considered the risks that the charity has and consider that these are minimal. 

The charity continues to own a manse which is the retirement home of the former pastors. The income is used towards grants to support Churches, primarily to contribute towards major repairs to premises and help pay for youth work. 

The Foundation helped the undernoted charities and projects and received reports from most of the organisations that received awards:

- St Luke’s Methodist £2,000 

- The Cedarwood Trust £2,000 

- West End Food Bank £1,000 

- Mary & Martha Trust £1,000 

- Walker & District Food Bank £2,000
