**Objects:** THE RELIEF OF POVERTY OF PERSONS WHO ARE MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS WHO RESIDE OR HAVE RESIDED, PRACTISE OR HAVE PRACTISED, HOLD OR HAVE HELD A MEDICAL APPOINTMENT IN THE MERSEYSIDE AREA AND THE WIDOW, WIDOWER AND CHILD OR ANY OTHER DEPENDANT OF SUCH PERSONS ORARE PERSONS IN THE LAST 3 CLINICAL YEARS OF THEIR TRAINING AT A UNIVERSITY BASED IN THE MERSEYSIDE AREA ON THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY WILL ULTIMATELY BECOME REGISTERED WITH THE GENERAL MEDICAL COUNCIL (‘GMC’) UNDER THE MEDICAL ACT 1983 OR ANY ENACTMENT EXTENDING OR REPLACING THE SAME.
