**Objects:** 1. TO STIMULATE PUBLIC INTEREST IN AND CARE FOR THE CHARACTER, BEAUTY AND HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF WARE AND ITS SURROUNDINGS. 2. TO PRESERVE AND IMPROVE THE AMENITIES OF WARE. 3. TO ENCOURAGE HIGH STANDARDS OF TOWN PLANNING ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN IN THE FUTURE DEVELOPEMENT OF THE TOWN AND ITS SURROUNDINGS.

**Activities:** The Society monitors planning proposals, particularly in the Ware Conservation Area and comments where appropriate. It operates a biennial Town Award Scheme in recognition of  developments or projects that have enhanced the appearance or amenity of the townOrganises monthly talks on various relevant topicsIt publishes or sponsors various publications concerning the history of the town
