TRUST PROPERTY HELD IN CONNECTION WITH ST. MARY’S RC CHURCH, LITTLE CROSBY

YEAR ENDED 5 APRIL 2023 ANNUAL REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES

Principal Office:

Crosby Hall Little Crosby Liverpool L23 4UA

Trustees:

M F Whitlock Blundell B A Coyne

Registered Charity No.

246315

Objectives and Activities of the Charity

The charity is constituted by an Indenture dated 15 December 1857 made by Nicholas Blundell, which created a trust to own St Mary’s RC Church Little Crosby and adjoining land and building, to use the same for purposes connected with the Roman Catholic religion.

At the present time, the trust owns St Mary’s Church, which continues in use as a place of Roman Catholic worship, the adjoining burial ground, the Parish Hall, and two houses (the Presbytery and West Lane House) let to residential tenants.

The trust income is used to maintain the buildings owned by the trust and to support the religious work of the Parish of Little Crosby. The buildings are old and the present and future burden of repair and maintenance is considerable.

Activity during the year

This was a quiet year, with relatively little expenditure, providing a surplus which enabled the Trust to repay its outstanding debt to the Crosby Estate.

We invested £180,000 in COIF Charities Investment Fund Income Units during the year.

Signed on behalf of the Trustees: 21 November 2023
