The Brotherhood Hall is run by a board of trustees that meet on a regular basis. Its main aim is to serve the local community and provide a building that all groups can use at a reasonable hire rate. Our trustees are made up of local business owners and volunteers from sporting clubs and other local organisations.
This year has again been fairly challenging due to several factors, the cost of living has meant that our overall expenditure has increased quite considerably so we have had to put a small increase on the cost of hiring the halls. All the hirers understood this and therefore we have not lost anyone, so this is positive.
We have had quite a lot of vandalism in the hall this past year, which is most disturbing, as the hall in run for the local community and we only charge enough to cover maintenance costs. After our autumn meeting the trustees decided to install CCTV to cover the whole hall and we hope this will deter any further trouble.
We continue to attract new hirers and the hall seems to be very popular and is used regularly by a diverse group of people.
