Annual Report for reporting year 2024 -2025
The year dated to April 2025 saw a 50% increase in grants over 2024 which was pleasing and demonstrated the value the trust continues to bring to the community, particularly as ‘normal life’ has resumed after the impact of Covid.
Requests were many and varied, including from our local hospices, Thames Hospice and Sebastian’s Action Trust. Community groups and clubs benefited from grants including the Ascot Locomotive Society, community-based charities such as Homestart, helping families with children under five facing particular challenges and needing support. We continued to provide the sporting excellence bursary for the local senior school, Charters School with three high-performing students benefiting from this support.
We also supported the excellent initiative run across all 6 of our local primary schools by the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain, dealing with how our young people can better recognise, understand and deal with cyber safety and threats including bullying.
Grants were also given to the Royal Ascot Cricket Club, South Ascot Guides and two local primary schools. No requests were received this year from residents for direct, personal support.
The balance of funds the charity holds is still positive and we are actively seeking ways to further encourage new grant applications from organisations and, where appropriate, individuals within the wider Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale community.
