## **LONG PRESTON WATER TRUST** ## **Chairman** : Mr R Newhouse ## **Clerk** : Kath Dewhurst ## e-mail. longprestonwatertrustclerk@outlook.com ## **TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT 22/23** During 22/23 the Long Preston Water Trust were pro-active in tracking leaks causing water loss or loss of pressure and the repair or replacement of old pipework. We also did some maintenance work in and around the reservoir, e.g. lining and fencing round. The sum spent on this work in the financial year 1.02.2022 – 31.01.2023 was £51,000.00. The water quality is tested monthly by the local council from the treatment plant and a randomly selected property in the village. The annual cost of this was £1466.00. The Trust invested in new Data Loggers at a cost of £9500.00 and filtration equipment and products amounted to £1700.00. We drew on our Investments to the sum of £20,000 and used £10,000 from a Building Society account which customers paying by cheque pay in to. The Trust remains committed to providing the best possible service to the villagers who are supplied by us, with the best possible quality of water. Our charges to most properties rose by £10 for the year with a pledge to make no increase next year. We also made Donations of £650 to our May Day event, and £1300.00 to be split between our local Rainbows/Brownies and Guide packs. Kath Dewhurst Clerk to the Trust Reg.
