LONG MELFORD HOSPITAL REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2025 Long Melford Hospital Charity whose correspondence address is 20 Chureh Walk. Long Melford. Sudbury. Suffolk, C010 9DJ, is registered with The Charity Commissioners (No. 242946) and constiluled by The Charities (Long Melfoid Hospital) Order 1967 as amended. A body of len Trustees and their Clerk usually administers the Charity. Three of the ten trustees are ex officio TrLJStees, two of whom are appointed by reason ol their offices as Churchwardens al The Holy Trinity Church, and one of whom are appointed by reason of office as Rector of The Holy Trinity Church, As al 31 st December 2025. there are no vancancies for Trustees. The names and addresses of The Trustees are sel out in the schedule of these accounts. The object of the Charity is to provide Almshouse accommodation for poor aged persons of good character who were bom or reside in the ancient parishes of Long Melford, Glemslofd, Stansted, Shimpling, Alphelon, Lavenham, Aclon, Chillon or Sudbury.. A Weekly Maintenance Contribution IWMCI is paid by the residents Ilhis is standard practice in all Almshouses}. This is either paid by the residents or covered in fulllpartially by Local Authority Housing Benefit. WMC conlibules lo, bul does not Cover, the running of Long Melfoid Hospital. Each flat is provided with heating and hot water. In addition, each flat is connected to a community alami system lo ensure 24 hour assistance is available if required. Mrs Alison Brame continues lo live in as part-lime Warden, assisted by a Relief Warden. Mrs Catherine Elsey, who provides Cover for the Warden's holiday and sickness. Ongolng decoration and maintenance is carried out lo keep the Hospital premises in good order. Some of the residents. where able, continue lo maintsin the gardens. INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF LONG MELFORD HOSPITAL I report on the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 December 2025 which are sel on pages 3 104. Res onsibilities and basis of re ort As the Charity's Trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 { the Act'i. I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable dI¢t10nS given by the Charity Commission under section 145115}(bl of the act. Inde endent Examiner's Statement I confirm that l am qualified to undertake the examination because l am a member of The Association of Chartered Accountants, which is one of the listed bodies. I have completed my examination.. I confirm that no material matters have come lo my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believo that in any material respect: {11 accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the act.. or 12) the aecounts do not accord with those records. 13} the accounts did not comply wlh the applicable requirements conceming the form and conlenl of accounts sel out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any qUirement that the accounts give a'true and falr, view which is not a maller considered as part of an independent examination. Rookswoods, Acton comprises 14 acres of land let to Hyde Parker Famis. Rent is charged at £1,400 p.a. wtth effect from October 2010.
