He left 6 acres of farn)land in Broadstairs town centre now known as Culmerfs Amenity Land. In 1726 Hannah Taddy left 4 acres in St Peterfs also to the church. Both parcels of land are now non-statutory allotments and bring in regular income in the form of rents. Five other small charities were placed under the umbrella of what is known now as crio Parochial Charities. All trustees give their time voluntary and received rK) remuneration or other benefits. In selecting individuals for appointrnent as trustees. the existing trustees must have regard to the skills. knowledge and experience needed for the effecting administration of the charity. The obiectNe of crio Pamchial Charitbes is to distribute grants to the poor and needy within the area postcode CTIO. The grants are made where there is no other source of money available, i.e. grants are not made in place of benefrts. etc. Income is from the letting of land and the receipt of dividends from our investments. When planning our activities, the trustees have considered the Charities Commission's guidance on public benefrt. including the guidance 'public benefit: running a charity {PB2)'. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE We have continued to distribute grants to those in need within Broadstairs in line with the aims of the Charity. We seem to be receiving fewer requests via the food bank. but still a regular flow of referrals from statutory bodies i.e. Social Services, Childrens, services, local NHS mental health teams and GP surgeries. We have found it necessary to continually remind people of our existence given the turnover of staff in these agencies. We have reached out to all schools within our catchment area and have been able to give several effective grants as a result. FINANCIAL REVIEW CTIO Parochial Charities had receipts of £42,442 {2023: £39,916) and payments of £56.74212023: £19.141) during the year. The payments in 2024 included £25.0￿ invested in the share portfolio. This gives net receipts for the year of £20.775 (2022: net receipts of £7,330).
