He left 6 acres of familand in Broadstair5 town ￿ntre now known as Culmerf5 Amenity Land. In 1726 Hannah Taddy left 4 acres in St Peterfs also to the church. Both parcels of land a￿ now non-statutory allotments and bring in regular income in the forni of rents. Flve other small charities were placed under the umbrella of what Is known now as crio Parochial Charities. All trustees glve their tlme voluntary and received no remuneration or other beneffts. In seletting individuals for appointment as trustees, the existing trustees must have regard to the skills. knowledge and experience needed for the effecting administration of the charity. OBJEcnvES AND AcrivmES The obiertive of crio Parochlal Charities is to distribute grants to the poor and needy within the area postcode crio. The grants are made where there is no other source of money available, i.e. grants are not made in place of benefits. etc. Income is from the letting of land and the receipt of divldends from our investments. When planning our activities, the trustees have considered the Charities Cornmission's guidance on public benefit. Including the guidance 'public benefft: running a charity (PB2)'. ACHIEVEMEKfs AND PERFORMANCE We have continued to distribute grants in line with the aims of the Charity supporting those in need in Broadstairs and St Peterfs. We have seen continuing referrals from the local food bank in St Peter's as well as an increase In referrals from statutory agencies such as Social servi￿$, GP Practices and Early Years Teams. The majorty of our grants have been for white goods, curtains. carpetin& beddin& school uniform and emergency fuel. FINANCIAL REVIEW crio Parochial Charities had receipts of £39,91612022: £39.123) and payments of £19,14112022: £31,793) during the year. This &'ves net receipts for the year of £20.775 {2022: net re￿Ipts of £7,330). The bank balances carried forward at 31 De￿mber 2023 were £101,072 (2022: £80,297).
