OWECTIVES & ORGANISATION
The League of Friends of wa￿l￿gtOn Hospital was founded on 12 December 1963 and is registered with the
Charity Commission. No 242506.
Th¢ L¢ague of Friends was established for charitabl¢ purposes only, and its objectives as follows..
To aid the comfort and wellbeing of all patients and to mobilis¢. encourage. fostei. and maintain the
inlerest of the public in the patients and the supw)rt of the work of the hospital, by means of voluntary
service.
To maintain the relations and associations which exist between voluntary bodies and the hospital; and
to provide opportunities for such voluntary Fx)dies to continue their activities for the benefit of the
hospital.
Actively to pursue the raising and provision of the funds for the purw)se of suppleinenting, in such
manner as the League thinks fil the tesources of the hospital servic¢.
The recrnitment of voluntary workers for the League of Frt¢nds of WatTill8ton Hospital.
To CO￿perate with all other bcdies for ihe benefrt of the hospitsl service.
To encoiira8e inter communication and cfroperation with the other ttague of Hospital Friends or with
other similar bodies.
To do all such other things as are incidental or conduclive to the attainment of the above objects or any
of them.
The manag¢m¢nt of the League of Friends is under the control of the Committee.
REVIKW OF ACTIVITIES
The results for the year and the financial position of the charity are as shown in the annexed finaiicial statements.
During 2022 the League of Friends received a total incom¢ of £235.800 from:

The principal fund rdising activitie5 of the tEague during 2022 were the weekly lottery. wliich made a net surplus
of £236. and table top sa5es held ihroughot51 the year which made a total net surplus of £485. The b818nce of
income was rnised by ad ho¢ fund raising cyents.
Donations were received throughout the year from melnbers of the public and local organisations. The total
donated was £234,040.

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT
In common wilh many organisations in the voluntary sector, the charity receives much valuable support from its
volunteers. We gratefully acknowledge ih¢ sUPPOrt and coniinued contribution of our volunteers witii tlieir wide
ranging input to our work.
RESERVES POLICY
li is the policy of the charity ￿ hold reserves in its unrestricted fund in ordw to establish an appropriate level of
working capital and proiect the future operations of the charity from the effects of any unforeseen and material

STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES
The trustees are responsible for preparing the financial ststements in accordance with applicable law and United
Kingdom G¢nerdlly Accepted Accounting Prdctice.
Charity law requires t￿ trustees lo prepare the financial statements for each financial year which give a true and
fair view of the state of th¢ financial activities of the Charity and of its financial positioii ￿ the year end. In
preparing those financial statements. the trustees are required to..
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.
